What in the world .... I imagine a lot of you guys just have much more free time than me? I'm still on my way to the 2nd gym, and I've played for a really long time already. Guess I should play a bit faster! |

I just remembered that I've only been playing for a week! I couldn't get the game on release date... Also I'm at 25 hours so it's not like I'm playing sparsely... On the upside I'm pretty sure I've caught every Pokemon in every area I've been to.
I also have a ton of berries... hundreds... |

You could always try speedrunning it, Nyanners... I hear the record is roughly four hours now (with wi-fi disabled)
And to be honest, this game seemed to be the fastest pokemon game that I can remember (and i've played since the originals)... Most of Team Flare's story seemed crammed in between two gyms, and while I haven't gotten far in the aftergame, I know there isn't much in it either (unless everyone's been missing something major). The Friend Safari is a cool concept admittedly, and a lot of the gyms were nicely designed, but I couldn't help but notice X/Y also lacked any real "dungeon" that the previous titles had, usually for the enemy headquarters...
Onto performance and execution... I never play this game with 3D on because it makes the battles stuttery and seems to drain the battery faster. The rollerblades are nice, but once I get the bike I never really use them, though I tend to have trouble entering buildings and such, and the fifth trick you can get from the Boss of the Punks is... pretty meh in my opinion. The battling is solid as always, but that can be expected from a Pokemon game. I shudder to imagine trying to escape a Horde encounter, just to have them all use Pursuit...
Currently, the things I'm working on still in X is filling up dat pokedex, fishing up shinies, and upping my rank in the Battle Chateau. :3
Sorry if that ended up like a review, I wanted to get my thoughts on the game out somewhere I'm really enjoying the game though.

I beat it in 20 hours across one week and dunno what to do with it now. halp.
There's not much of a post-game in XY. Catch Zygarde + Mewtwo, fill your Pokdex, get the TMs and mega stones. It's no where near BW's level of post-game content which is very unfortunate. |

That kind of sucks but I wouldn't call that a big deal. It just sucks more for the people that speed run the game on their first play through.
On a different but related topic, it appears that Nintendo has released a patch for that game breaking bug! I've got to say, Nintendo was quick with releasing that patch!

So, I've counted nine days since this post...

Yay, got my Shroomish! GTS has a lot, though I'm noticing a few species aren't showing up whatsoever, like Rattata, Tynamo, Feebas and any of the starter Pokémon that aren't available in X/Y.
Also, 80% of users seem to think that it's a fair trade to give you their Spinarak for your Xerneas or whatever. Way to be hopeful, guys, but if you want a unique legendary, you might have to pick up a second copy of the game. |

Yup.
You can't get the Gen 2-5 starters (outside of Blaziken obviously due to event), Gen 2-5 legendary pokemon and about four to five evolutionary lines from each generation. |

I'm personally playing very on and off, currently level 30 among the party. Pokemon Y is the name of the game and Wonder Trade has kept my surprisingly hooked. I still need to find a Cubchoo and Teddiursa to complete my bear brothers team. (I've already evolved Pancham into Pangoro :3 )
Also I need to find a Mawile and a Banette for M-Evolutions... this game is loadsa fun~

I caught an Ursaring earlier today, as a matter of fact ^.^ I also have three shinies now, a Basculin, a Poliwhirl (soon to be Politoed), and my aforementioned Gyarados~

I'm at 41 hours and I just made it to the third gym... The game really is lots of fun; I just wish I could have a Chansey without having to wait until post-game ... or trading.
Actually trading wouldn't work anyway since I can't request Pokemon that are not in my Pokedex, and Wonder Trade would be highly unlikely to produce a Chansey, right? |

There's a 'What Pokemon' option now. You can type any pokemon's name. |

I have a Linoone crew set up for use of Pickup, which gives me access to lots of Rare Candy. I give these to Pokémon to hold when I trade them on GTS and Wonder Trade, and someone even gave me a "Nice!" because of it. So if you ever Wonder Trade and receive a Spinarak holding a Rare Candy, check to see if the OT was me.
I'm trying to think of the gimpiest team so I can try and make it work. Things like Magikarp, Shuckle and Hoppip come to mind, so it should be a fun experiment. I might need a Smeargle or two to pass buffs along to make it work, though! |

No, it goes to the Pokémon, so you have to retrieve the held item. But not all Linoone have Pickup; half of them have Gluttony (makes them eat berries at 50% HP instead of 25%).
Rare Candy starts appearing in Pickup starting at level 21 with a 4% chance, then gets promoted to a 10% chance starting at level 41. As far as I've seen, the Pickup graph (get it?) is the same in X/Y as it was in Black 2/White 2. |
