People have asked me who I'd vote for, and I'm glad I don't have to answer because I'm not of age yet.

Even if I were, I still don't know who I'd vote for; it's either someone that people hate, yet they somehow feel safer getting into office; the typical Quebec separatist that seems to know how to get votes from the pure French; or someone from any of the other groups that no one ever brings up in conversations and that I therefore wouldn't trust as much.

I'm kinda scared for the future, and I'm terrified that I'm eventually gonna have to vote for what seems like the lesser evil.

EDIT- The "typical Quebec separatist" (ie, the Parti Quebecois) won with a minority government, and I have no idea what to think.

I have no idea what Canadian politics are about so I'm not sure what's being checkmated at.

All that I know is that I want to run away there if Romney wins, because I'm sure Canada will still be a helluva lot better.

Pretty sure I was still asleep when I wrote that post. In class, but definitely not awake.

In any case, guess our incredibly strict gun laws don't always prevent nutjobs from gaining access to rifles. I'm (mostly) perfectly sane and I can't get even a little 9mm handgun.

EDIT: also holy crud I have JCS points this month.

Canada really isn't a place to run to. It has a bunch of bizarre and backwards issues with its government too.

I'd opt for a more Scandinavian country instead.

As silly of a place as it sounds, I still want to visit it some day. Maybe in the summer, so I don't freeze to death.

You could say that about most governments.

Canada's less wonky than America in comparison and doesn't need a plane ticket to flee get to.

While most governments have their foibles, consider that in Canada the Prime Minister can schedule elections as they please, technically Queen Elizabeth II is the true head of state, Senators are not elected, internet is permanently screwed by caps and high prices worse than the US, etc.

It's better than the US in a lot of other ways, but if I'm moving out, then I want something that closer fits my view of things--the more Scandinavian ones are a better fit for me anyway, maybe Switzerland.

You'll find that is the case with most countries that were formerly British colonies. Which is half of the Western world.

Admittedly though, I've never understood the logic behind metered internet. Is it easier or cheaper or something to serve a place by measuring their internet usage like electricity? O.o

I am ignorant of how this process works, I swear.
