I watch basketball at the Olympics. But aside from that... nothing.

There's no reason to watch them. My favorite sport is baseball. Baseball isn't an Olympic Sport. Is Dodgeball an Olympic Sport? I honestly don't know.

sorta, just sporadically

i did watch the opening ceremony though. meredith viera and matt lauer need to shut the fuck up

it's not the macy's thanksgiving day parade, it's a piece of art to enjoy with minimal commentary

downloading the bbc's version of it at the moment.

Women's Beach Volleyball.. Mr. Burns Voice excellent...excellent
I like basketball too, but really only care about the final gold medal round. The opening was meh, McCartney was neat, but he don't exactly sound like he used to. Nothing compared to the Beijing ceremony which had a guy running on air, unfurling a big ass scroll like a boss.

I think the whole point of England's ceremony wasn't to be over the top, but rather something more subdued and classy.

Somehow... that sound's like a snooze to watch. Nothing against class and subdued intellectualism... but...

If I'm watching something (like this, but I wasn't) that only happens once every couple years, I want to be entertained by something that is... i dunno, entertaining. It's great to have class, on a daily basis even, but can't you break trend and have some fun?

I didn't really care for London's opening, yet the ending with the rings was rather awesome and I enjoyed the music.

Watching water polo right now, and holy crap, this sport is boring to watch. I liked the archery and women's volleyball, however, because dem legs...

I've been enjoying the fencing type events
they are pretty cool to watch

it's pretty fast paced but it does have quite a few breaks

also can we not devolve this into a conversation
on how much everybody loves the beach volleyball

those athletes are there to compete
not to be sexually objectified and all that shit

Olympics are back on, from Sochi. They are pretty cool, nice sports. I like the snowboarding slope style.

What an old thread to bump, yet hey

I'm hoping to catch more curling, which is still the best sport of all time. There was some of it on the television at a burger joint a few weeks ago already, and it was really calming to watch.

Unfortunately, not having cable is probably going to make this a little difficult

I remember seeing one of the winter olympics opening ceremonies and finding out that Cool Runnings was a true story and there was in fact a Jamaican bobsled team

I love the Olympics and hate NBC, as every American does.
