Hello everyone,

The current Toad's Tool 64 website at the address http://homepage.mac.com/qubedstudios will disappear from the face of the internet after June 30 2012, as Apple will discontinue some "legacy" MobileMe services like homepage publishing.

Even if I'm not working on TT64 anymore, I don't want the site to completely disappear so I will have to move it somewhere else (I'm not sure where, if anyone has any suggestions...).

I already own the domain name qubedstudios.com which redirect to the current site, and it will be trivial to change it so it points to the new site. The problem is that most of the images I posted in threads will become 404 as they are pointing to homepage.mac.com. There are also many other links to TT64 all over the internet that will become 404 past June 30.

So as a warning, you may want to archive the images in these threads if you need them.

Don't panic, and have a nice day

I suggest the Google site domain.

However, how long have you been? This SM64 mod expertizing stuff is hard a lot to handle (I'm a rookie, so I'm not complaining).

Thanks for the suggestion.

However I have nothing to add about TT64 so please keep any comments/suggestions on topic (about the TT64 site moving and the implications) or I will have to lock this thread pretty quickly (or MetalMan will do it before me ).

Couldn't you ask Xkeeper if you could move it here? I'm sure It's worth a try.

Hey VL-Tone, nice to see you around. I'm also a ocasional lurker those days, but Skelux seems to be doing pretty well keeping things going on SM64 hacking.

By the way, you may be interested (or at least surprised!) that people are still checking your Star Fox stuff.

Xkeeper or I should be able to host the entire website. We just need the data.

I have been aware that over time, the main programmers lose interest, but, I keep the lights on so as to attract people like Skelux here.

It is my hope that over time the hacking of SM64 can continue until the entire game is hackable, in a fashion like they do with Sonic 1-3K. But that's a ways away, with all the bits that haven't been broken into yet.

I haven't thought about asking you guys. I'll get back to you about it (well before june 30 for sure ).

messiaen: nice to see you too About StarFox, indeed I saw some renewed interest in it, as I was contacted by 2 or 3 people about it in the recent months. The thing is, it's been literally over 7 years since I've worked on that StarFox editor, and I think I lost part of my hacking notes in a HDD crash a while ago. If it was not for BGNG (Guy Perfect) cracking the MIO0 compression scheme around that time which led me to hacking SM64 ,I would've pursued working on SFXedit. (And incidentally, the fact that I was working on StarFox back in the days enabled me to quickly crack the SM64 level and polygon formats as they are similar in many ways)

Anyway let's not derail this topic as I just said not to.

See ya guys!

First geocities, now Apple websites... Will Facebook's/Twitter's assassination of reputable website hosts ever end ? Wahh...

Back on-topic, may I make a recommendation/suggestion, VL-Tone? To make your life much easier in the "relocation" of your site, have you thought about using site-mapping software not only to see what pages you have, but to search what links to where internally and externally to your site, and what links are dead or alive? One such freeware I use for such a task is Xenu's Link Sleuth. It is a small, portable program that does such tasks. Google it for more information, and for a download.

Hope that helps you greatly! Furthermore, I agree with AwesomeLukey: it would be a good idea to mirror your research to RomHacking.net . Many people frequently visit there, and it would be a great way to promote SM64 hacking and your research. However, I think it would be better to relocate the site to JUL rather than sites.google if possible, since, not only would it be "next door" to these forums, but also would further promote new visitors to JUL/RustedLogic. And we all know how the admins love new visitors .

Hello VL-Tone!
I finally found you!
I'm one of the guys that was interested in your work on Star Fox but I won't bother you here about it (so as not to derail this topic )
I'll definitely be lurking this thread! =D

If you happen to have a bit of time to help me with the Star Fox thing I'm easy to find on the romhacking thread they made (which I started by the way).

I'm going to delete their link so that they don't fool anyone with it. To would-be spammers: Not going to fall for your BS.

Awesome VL-Tone!
I've visited that site so much that it should not disappear from the internets.

You know I have to ask, is there any chance you might want to revisit your old Star Fox Hacking? =D
If not I will not bother you any more about it.
