I couldn't get tickets for last year's. They were all sold out.

Tickets haven't gone of sale yet for this year's PAX. I heard it might happen at the end of the month.

How much will they be? If they're not too expensive I may grab a pair...

Not sure. I'm getting in with a media pass. You might want to check out their website.

Colin, its only complicated because you think it is.

Going to Seattle would be literally like hopping on a train, for me.
Largely 'cause that's how it'd go.

Portland has a huge civilian train depot that goes to cities across the country. Has a ton of different styles to choose from too. From the luxury class, fairly slow trains, to faster 'economy-class' like ones. Of course, the luxury ones are totally the ones to go with. Fuck yeah being able to go between cars, and a dining car! Though you could call some food to your room anyway!

I think the most complicated part would be finding a hotel in the right place to get to PAX easily..

...Now I kind of wish I had the resolve to go myself. But I'm terrified of such HUGE events.

Colin if you come to PAX East, you can totally stop by at my place and eat food that I cook. It'd be a once in a lifetime opportunity.

I hate large crowds and events as well. But I want to experience PAX. I'm arriving early and leaving a few days later so I can actually relax for once and enjoy the sites. Thankfully I'm staying with a friend while I'm there. I also got my plane ticket back in February and I've been saving my money from work (tips) ever since.

I'd probably have several panic attacks, sadly. My fear is at the phobia level.. A literal zero control over how I respond after a time. I think the best I've handled with a large event was 3 hours or so at kumoricon. And even then I broke down in the car on the way home.

That's really sad Maybe you should try seeing a therapist (I mean, if it bothers you)?

I generally dislike being alone (as long as I get a good amount of time to myself, but usually I get too much), so I like being around small groups of people. I like crowds in public spaces or events though, I think it's exciting.

(Anya: Yes, it is! At least, flying there is since there's no direct Montreal -> Seattle flight, so I'd have to do some silly two-stop thing. At least I can go Montreal -> Boston direct.)

Poor excuse, Colin! I'm flying to Dallas and then to Seattle both ways. The layovers are not that bad either, about an hour.

There aren't even direct flights from Newport News to Boston anymore, and that's the same country and coast.

I could go Montreal -> Vancouver and Vancouver -> Seattle but that would cost more. I think the cheapest way is to fly to Atlanta, then Detroit, then Seattle. Don't even ask me how that makes sense. :\

I...

Maybe they fly in groups on the second group of flights and it 'costs less' to them?
That's still really weird though.

I would go out of my way to go to Toronto if I had a place to spend the night (or a couple, wouldn't want to return the very next day) ... a hotel is waay out of my budget.

I might be going to Boston this summer, who knows.
