XP Black Edition? That's new to me. I was expecting something along the lines of Windows 7 Genius Edition and all the insanity that came with it.
Now I'm a little bit disappointed (if screenshots are to be believed). :V

Also, interesting how you have an ArchiveTeam warrior VM set.

Oh man that's a blast from the past.

Let's see. Desktop is running Windows 10 Pro, laptop is running Windows 10 Pro (you can probably see a theme here). Server is running ESXi 6.5. VMs on desktop include Windows 10 Pro, Windows 7 Pro, OpenBSD 6.1 (need to upgrade to 6.2), some odd flavour of Linux I was trying to fiddle with KVM in, latest development build of Araxes (my hobby OS project), and a couple NT 3.1 servers and workstations. VMs on server are Windows Server 2016, a couple Windows 7 Pro VMs, Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, another Araxes test environment, and a Cisco Unified Communications Manager 11.5 + Cisco Unity Connection 11.5 lab.

GOD I REMEMBER THAT VIDEO. I wish those peeps made more 'stupid Windows edition showcases' like that. Hmph.

And yeah, XPBE is mostly a slightly-enhanced version of XP with patches and software. No weird themes or Egyptian doctors here, sadly.

On my new laptop, I've been saddled with Windows 10 from the get-go, and for the most part this is not a problem once done steamrolling as many features as possible out via options. I'm not... entirely sure how I would install a Linux distro on this thing, if for nothing more than to mess around with the OS.

i think i already mentioned this in another thread, buuuut

- on my desktop i use Windows 7. i was thinking about using windows 8.1 again or trying windows 10 on my desktop, but my desktop is really old and it only has one PCI-e slot so i needed a PCI wireless card, and getting it to work with anything past 7 is a pain, so i just went with 7.
- on my laptop i use Windows 10. by choice, actually... my laptop was actually made for Windows 7, but i wanted to try Windows 10 again and see how okay i was with it now. it seems okay so far? the spying is lame and i had to disable a lot of it, and there's a lot of inconsistencies in the UI.

i'd talk about my phone but i actually don't have a working phone right now. rip

My laptop dual boots mint and win10.

You have to disable secure boot to use any real drivers though. Which causes Windows to never shut down for real; it just labels itself as in hibernation.

Mint, being based on Ubuntu, lets you do a live boot/install from a USB and also can resize the drive for you proper, without deleting your windows files. (of course, if you're using ridiculous amounts of space on your drive this may be difficult..)

Is "Windows XP Black Edition" something like "Windows 99"? Because I remember seeing that as a kid and yeah, it was pirated 98, haha.

It's a pirated version of Windows XP with various features/software added and removed.

My laptop has Windows 8.1 installed, and the desktop I'm currently on is Windows 10.
