It tends to be the case that a person can think, "If that was real, the world would be a better place." What this is could be any one of a great many things. Weapon? Person? Species? Element of the table? Likewise there are several places the 'thing' in question could have originated. The content could come entirely from one person's mind, or perhaps written out in a book. And even further, a public movie or video game may have had this instead. But regardless the case, every scenario turns out the same: the 'thing' does not exist and, in these worldly conditions that we all know, never will.

But consider where the 'thing' is from. What is, or was, their world like? How do, or did people live? And where do things that our world takes for granted fit in with theirs, if at all? And then we try to consider this universe, this perhaps fanatical illusion, and compare it to our own. What makes it special compared to us? Why should we place it in higher regard over our own? Or, why does our world, torn in strife with an inter-species set of wars that never seems to end, appeal to their universe, and the opposite as well?

Per example, think of a universe that we all know of. Mario, perhaps. Or Halo even, everybody's heard of that one by now. If you think Harry Potter's a good common universe then take it. Now, what is it in this universe that you might desire? What would another person desire? What in our universe would the people of theirs want from us? Which universe, by what you think, would hold out to be the superior one? (And what makes it so? People staying on one side as opposed to the other? Or just having the best army?) Further, if both universes were combined and made one, what would things be like then?

Many ideas can be made from any combination, I believe. Put forth what you think of one universe being compared to our own, and let us discuss feverently the similarities, differences, and possibilities that may arise from intermingling worlds and.

this topic is close to home because i have been trying to replicate a universe i know courtesy of Μορφεύς

in this particular one there is not much difference from our own & the tiny thing that sets it apart as far as i Know
is the existence, expansion & evolution of the N64 video game Goldeneye & it's spiritual cousin Perfect Dark -

All fps titles in this place are played better & controllers are different -
there is also a supreme shooter game that settles a lot of unanswered questions & comparisons that many make today......

it is this glimpse in to this weird place that lead me to be so dissapointed with today's videogames and their systems with their crummy controller schemes, the half assed PD adaptation & the failure to adapt GE to the Xbox 360.

I wrote about some of the things i saw & added some of my own things to it at the Xbox forums where i had the only official on-line existence .
of course i did not share everything for 2 reasons -

Vgames are - unfortunately for many - a very effective medium to spread propaganda, brainwash & control people -
In the case of 1st person shooters , in this world I'm glad they are not as great & fun as they should be -
but yet - crummy shooters like call of duty still do their job very effectively, and the effects of making war feel "cool" are evident in the wikileaked video:

& the better the tool the more damage it can cause.

how many Vgame players that like shooters like guns?

The problem is that the logic flow of your posts is impossible to see.

Meaning, nobody sees the relation between your discussion over desentification on videogames and propaganda and stuff over FPS with... the topic of this thread.
In fact, there's no relation, you just rambled over shooters and war and stuff.

This thread is to talk about fantasy universes; it makes little sense to discuss works that mirror our world to begin with, and certainly none to go off a tangent about their impact in society.

 OP is not really specific that we have to discuss exclusively about Known works.....
 I responded with something i deal with, from time to time ---

   It is perhaps better if i had responded with ---
say - an universe where Leonardo Davinci's works are 90%+ intact and well known -
and by 90% intact i mean almost all of his works where preserved - NONE destroyed -
(because in this universe, only a fraction of his stuff is known thanx to unfortunate circumstances)
& then let OP and the rest share your thoughts on it -
 Or even better ,just ignore my abominable post2
and try to respond to the topic in the correct way -
(with such example i might be able to fix & make the second post make sense then)

i'm very open to suggestions...

i will leave the choice of background & else to Oldyz and his own content, but as for me own posts i have to use this blasted tactic -
Also , i like the gray background because it is the color the default thingy that my original turfs where like....
the previous post had some kind of mess with the blue tone & hopefully i will be like an a animal & not fall for for the same trap.
As for the color of the font, I personally like red, but i know for a fact that red makes eyes even more uneasy, I dislike white because it reminds me of the KKK, green seems kind of booger mean, additionally brown is less than chocolaty & makes me frown -
Black is too much too serious & solemn for my tone of thoughts, and thus as much as i dislike to use the current hues, it at least reminds me of that pup that sniffs the clues.......

What you submit: your own universe
What I ask of: a melding of one already-existing universe with this current universe

You also share only a small amount of this (irrelevant) universe before going off on a tangent about propaganda and "war is fun" people. If the talk about a universe you made wasn't irrelevant enough, this certainly was. Unless you can name an already-existing not-us universe that has this sort of thing going on in it, this speak would be best placed in a different thread.

(you're also not being consistent with referring to yourself: it's "oldyz", not "ololololo lololo lololo, o o o o o")

(also blue on grey reminds me of dead people)

By ALL MEANS feel free to try again, just not with the same material. You'll get similar results if you do.

I'd Like to resurrect this Thread so we'lI choose a universe and discuss what it would be like combined with ours. Lets do the Mario universe first since EVERYBODY knows mario. Pipe travel, Plumbers/Heroes and Evil Turtles Spring to mind.
Other Examples:
»There would be alot more Human people than the mario world (obviously).
»Bowser/Bowser Jr.'s Contraptions would be more Complex thanks to our technology.
»We'd have yoshi's too.

Now its your turn to discuss. After so long (if this works) all the ideas will be put together (if seperate) and the best Person chooses the next universe to 'merge' with ours.
