This thread is for updating on the various indie bundles that just so happen to pop up. Due to the abundance and frequency of them, I think one thread should suffice.

The Humble Bundle
Current Bundle: Humble Indie Bundle #4
Games: Jamestown, BIT.TRIP RUNNER, Super Meat Boy, Shank, Nightsky HD
BONUS: Cave Story+, Gratuitous Space Battles

The bundle that started it all. DRM free, donate to chairty, pay what you want, all that good stuff.

The Indie Royale
Current Bundle: Xmas Bundle
Games: The Blackwell Trilogy: Remastered, Eets, Dino D-Day, The Oil Blue
BONUS:Rush Coil's 8-Bit Christmas

Pay what you want, all DRM free and redeemable on Steam, however you must pay a minimum and the price goes up with each small purchase but goes down with bigger payments.

The Indie Gala
Current Bundle: The Indie Gala
Games: inMomentum, Hacker Evolution: Duality, Saira, Your Doodles Are Bugged, Zombie Shooter 2
BONUS: Zombie Shooter 1, Hacker Evolution: Untold, inMomentum Soundtrack, Your Doodles Are Bugged bonus doodles, Zombie Shooter theme

Similar to the Humble Bundle, however all games must be redeemed on Steam. I do not see an expiration date though. Not sure how long this lasts.

Little Big Bunch
Current Bundle: Little Big Bunch
Games: Explodemon, Frozen Synapse, New Star Soccer 5, Munch's Odyssey, Serious Sam Double-D
BONUS:

GOOD

The Xmas Bundle on Indie Royale is now up for pre-order, and you get 8-Bit Christmas right now if you preorder. $3.99 minimum, although 5 is recommended.

I'd just like to add that I have heard people saying they get used steam keys from the Indie Gala bundle and some overall bad feedback.

Anyhow, while I do think the bundles are a good idea, I do believe that there have been poping up quite a bit too many of them, and I'm afraid that profit might have something to do with it, which sorta ruins the point for me a bit.

...but profit would mean a good thing? I mean, if the developers didn't get ANY profit and sold their games like this, the overall value of their game would plummet and it would kill their game right away. Besides, in some instances it can fund the developers enough to work on their next project. The Introversion bundle surely means that they will work on another game because they made quite a lot of money on it.

And the Indie Gala is a little weird because it is nothing but Steam keys and looks to be from some new group, so I'm sure problems will arise. Similar problems happened during the Indie Royale when it first started, so maybe they will fix these up for those having issues.

What I'm referring too is not profit for the developers, but rather, profit for the people hosting the bundles. Of course, with the humble bundle you pick who gets how much of what you spend (which is excellent.)

But you can't deny that the latest few humble bundles have been weak at launch, not to mention coming quite often recently. This too me seem to point to that they want to do more bundles, which in turn I trace to profits. Of course, I could be wrong, but more and more of these type of packs have been starting to pop up.

And yeah, I suppose it could be that it's new and not very developed and such. I will never pick it up though, since I like the DRM free deal that Humble (and possible others?) offer.

Uhhh... The Indie Royale is run by writers of an indie game website and Desura, which is heavily focused on indie games of all kinds. That is one where you know a lot of the profit goes to the developers, and lots of indie developers actually want their games as part of their bundles. The Indie Gala is more like HIB with the splitting among various things, just that you need Steam (which has non-intrusive DRM by the way), so you can choose to pay the people running it or not.

That last one that isn't live yet is headed by a UK charity, where proceeds will go to charity. Seeing an Oddworld game there is also a good thing.

So... I'm not quite sure why exactly you are concerned. I mean, if it was headed by EA then you'd have a relevant issue. And just because it is new doesn't mean they have to be perfect. After all, HIB had issues at launch with the first bundle due to the overwhelming success of it, and The Indie Royale had issues with the first bundle of that, and they are still experimenting with everything (which is why they started the pre-order thing). It is only natural that The Indie Gala had issues as well.

Actually, I have no idea who runs any of the bundles. And admittedly, I know I don't have much of a point (for concerns as well) at all. But I just wanted to get my sporadic thoughts off my chest.

As already mentioned, Desura and another site both run the Indie Royale and the Humble Bundle team run the... well, HIB.

You can probably rest assured that the developers are getting something out of it, though, otherwise, well... why even join it?

I suppose I should play this Cave Story thing now that I own it. And now I have a copy of Bit Trip Runner to play.

Still hate Jamestown, although I have its delicious soundtrack now.

Donations up to nearly $900,000 at the type I'm typing this. Dear lord...

That's still a HELL of a bundle. And you can still rip off Nicalis at the same time too!

Hopefully buying two copies of the HIB today, one for my brother and one for me. I do love me some Cave Story and Bit.Trip.Runner. Just not giving the developers anything, wouldn't pay Nicalis a dime for CS+.
