Also this Hylian font uses a weird input because the creator of it didn't know how to make it use proper Japanese IME features.. So it's probably entirely unreadable in normal text without the key www

That's a nice simple layout you made!

The image still appears a bit cut off, but it is pretty unnoticeable. Setting your table cellpadding to 0 would get rid of that abrupt cut off in the image, but that messes with the rest of the layout. If you implemented CSS to your layout, you could add padding to specific parts to your layout so that you could have the layout like you want it and move the image so that you cannot see the part that gets cut off.

Edit: I just noticed in this post that I forgot to set a padding value to the bottom for large posts. I have fixed that now.

Thank you so much for your post Kirby Mario! Because of it, I was able to figure out what to do, and I think that it should look right now!

I like the layout dotUser! Unfortunately I can't see any special fonts however, although maybe it's just me?

No problem! The layout looks perfect now. Though I don't know if it is something you did, but there is a "<p></p>" somewhere near the top that causes your post to break off the table and leave a space between your post and the previous post.

Edit: Also, you should move the "background-color: FDB6AE;" from the p declaration into your p.padding declaration, so that when others use the <p>, they don't get your background color changes from your layout when others use it.

Like this.

I can't see the webfont either, but as dotUser said, it is probably just fonts being stupid.

Haha, that's really interesting. One of the reasons I wanted to make a new layout was to get a better understanding of how all of this works, and I think it is doing quite a good job of that!

The only other thing I'm noticing is that there appears to be a small gap between the top edge of the layout and the part that says "Posted on 03-17-15...". Although I'm thinking that it may just be a browser thing, because I'm using Firefox, but if I view it in Chrome it seems to look ok.

Thanks again for your help!

Yes, that happens to be a browser thing with Firefox. Firefox uses a default style sheet that defines <p> to have a 1.12em large margin at the top. Other browsers do not use that default style sheet so <p> does not have a margin when using those browsers. Adding "margin-top: 0px;" to p.padding will get rid of that space for users of Firefox and other browsers that use a default style sheet.

Coding is a very interesting subject, no matter whether it is making a program or a webpage.

I wonder if something I just did changed anything or not. Maybe not, but...

z0.=he6wq.o2,

And supposedly it's mostly a Firefox Is Stupid thing. Firefox restricts font origins to "same domain". This sadly seems to include same subdomain.

EDIT: Nope didn't do anything but break loading the entire layout, reverted. Why can't stuff just work right on the internet for once??

EDIT: The background isn't working quite the way I wanted it to...I would've liked if it always occupied the exact same horizontal space as the post. Might have to search a little bit more about that.

EDIT 2: Sorry for so many edits, but WOHOOOO! It works!

EDIT 3: Fixed a few things. Hopefully this will be the last update to this post.

You're breaking everything because most of your css applies to the entire page, not just your posts.

Speaking of broken layouts, mine is probably due for a replacement. (I'm not feeling particularly inspired to make a new one, though...)

ehh, decided to just remove the container (and last post) forcing the post on the top center, I'll figure it out later. I still really like how it came out but I hope I can figure out how to only shift the post container to the top center instead of shifting the ENTIRE post. I still need to fix the background to 'cover' the entire container.

Here's that photoshop mockup of what I wanted.

I think that the layout actually looks quite good. The only differences from the mockup that I see is the padding at the left/right of the post and the font's size.
The font size thing should be easy to do. I don't know exactly how to adjust the padding, since I don't really know much more about CSS/HTML other than the little bit that was used in my test layout. My suggestion would be to use this, but again, I don't know for sure what is what.

And don't worry about making mistakes while creating layouts! The important part is to have creativity and to try to fix the mistakes.

I learned how to create layouts by studying what elements this layout has via W3Schools and also by looking at other people's layouts. It worked quite well.

Thank you!

Also yeah I had some change of thought when it came to the margins and font after making the mockup, I managed to keep the overall look the same though.

Also thank you again, I try to remember many of the things I read on W3Schools but I usually just end up referring to it again, haha. I also do the same when it comes to other people's layouts, just see how they did certain things on their layouts.

I was thinking about changing my post layout here for a while, and I did! It's basic just like the one before. Here is some test text. I think the colors are good, but I'm proabably going change those later.
