I started getting into this whole series-following thing because I decided I didn't want to be one of those people who miss out on all sorts of parts of culture by evading the "boob tube".

So I've been watching Bored to Death which has indie kid darling actor (of Wes Anderson and I β™₯ Huckabees fame) Jason Schwartzman. This guy is seriously one of my favorite actors so it's fun watching this show that features basically 30 minutes of him per episode.

I have a lot of territory to cover, though, since I still haven't seen "legendary" shows like 30 Rock or Mad Men or Arrested Development.

So what TV series are you following right now?

A friend of mine introduced me to the shows Thumbs Up! and Vice Guide To Travel, both of witch are available on Netflix streaming.

Thumbs Up! follows two hitchhikers as they travel up and down North America. It's very entertaining, and contains a decent amount of both humor and nudity. Definitely worth watching.

Vice Guide to Travel is a series in which an American man makes documentaries about travelling through various countries that are infamously dangerous for Americans to visit. They're war torn, third world, or just downright have laws prohibiting the making of documentaries. (For instance, he has an episode on North Korea.) Although I have only seen two episodes (Liberia and North Korea), so far it's been pretty fascinating. I strongly suggest watching the Liberia episode for starters - I found it to be pretty mind-blowing.

Also I've been watching Doctor Who and Torchwood lately. There's just something about the really cheesy sci-fi series/spinoff.

Arrested Development was awesome, but I watched all of it. (Minus the new stuff coming out described in the Arrested Development thread, of course.)

I'm obsessed with Doctor Who, as anyone who sees my tumblr could tell you. Besides that though, I've started watching Battlestar Galactica for the second time, because that's one of my all time favorite Sci-Fi series'. Fringe as well, watching it weekly. Dexter is another one, I watched the whole series over the last year.

As for series I've just started, I'll have to go with White Collar, a USA drama, which has been really good, and Breaking Bad, though I'm only 5 episodes into it.

The list could just go on and on, but I think that's covered everything I'm watching right now.

I've been watching... lots and lots of Tokusatsu.

Every week, me and my girlfriend curl up on the couch and watch the newest episodes of Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger (think: Power Rangers but space pirates) and Kamen Rider Fourze (Think: Man in silly astronaut/bug suit beats the hell out of other men in rubber suits). When we're not watching that, we're either going through the back catalog of Super Sentai or Kamen Rider series. D: With 35 years of Super Sentai and 40 years of Kamen Rider, that's a helluva lot of ground to cover.

For those not in the know: Super Sentai is a long-running series of Japanese children's shows involving a team of 3-7 costumed superheroes fighting a rubber monster of the week, and then finishing it off in a big robot. The 16th Super Sentai series, Kyouryuu Sentai Zyuranger, was adapted into Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. :x The current Power Rangers series (Samurai) is based off the 33rd series, Samurai Sentai Shinkenger.

Kamen Rider, on the other hand, has spent almost all of its time in Japan, and usually focuses on a sole man-in-rubber-suit fighting the monster of the week, without any giant robot fightan. It's also been adapted twice for the US, once in 1995 (Saban's Masked Rider, a retrofitting of 1987's Kamen Rider Black), and once in 2009 (Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight, a much closer adaptation of Kamen Rider Ryuki).

Whoa, that came out a lot more wordy than I wanted it to.

Well, now that Doctor Who is done, my focus is shifted towards House. Part way through Season 4 now, which means that I'm potentially half-way through it, assuming that it doesn't get picked up for a 9th season. And I really hope it does.

Also, Big Bang Theory. I hate myself for not watching this earlier. Same goes for How I Met Your Mother, but I've only actually seen one episode of that.

I think I'll get back into Bones too. Only ever saw Season 1...

This is what I followed from summer till now (a few shows on this list are on break).

Monday - How I Met Your Mother, WWE RAW, Terra Nova (Dropped because it sucks. Going to watch it in one go after season finishes).
Tuesday - White Collar
Wednesday - Mythbusters, Law & Order: SVU, South Park
Thursday - Community, The Big Bang Theory, Parks & Rec, Futurama, Person of Interest (I am behind on this).
Friday - Fringe
Sunday - Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, The Killing (Might drop this), The Walking Dead (Dropped this after 1 episode of season 2)

Daily shows/Misc:
ESPN's Around the Horn and PTI
24 (Marathon. Only one season left to watch)
** (Countless shows I marathoned this summer like The Wire, BB, Arrested Development, TBBT, etc...)

This discounts cartoons I watch with my girl during the weekend which is part of our nostalgia run (Dragonball, Back to the Future cartoon, Men in Black the series and Rurouni kenshin).

Yeah, it's another medical show! Got a problem with it? In all, House MD is an awesome TV series you should follow on, no matter if you dislike medicine or dislike drama. It has everything for everyone's tastes.

- Combat Hospital
*This TV series ended prematurely, so we're awaiting on news whether it'll release a DVD season or not.
*Every episode of Season One is recorded on Shaw PVR.

I know, it's MORE of the damn medical shows, but hey, I'm addicted to them. It's a great TV series because it shows the life of a medic in middle of a war, and it shows how harsh the life can be.

- Private Practice
*I've been slacking off on this TV series.
*I have Season One to Three, and I'm just waiting for each DVD seasons for me to watch in one sitting.

Yup, you guessed right. It's a medical show! Jeez. It's similar to Grey's Anatomy, but simply in a different location.

- Off The Map
*This TV series is currently on a indefinite hiatus, so we'll see what happens.
*I'm getting Season One on DVD this Christmas!

Mhmm, once again, this is a medical show. This one is peculiar, though, because it showcases interns and new doctors out in the real world... Literally. The location is a clinic somewhere in the remote wilderness of Brazil!

The only series I continually tune into is Ghost Hunters. ~boring~

I used to keep up with Doctor who until the local channels started playing everything weird and adjusted the time slots all badly. And then when they returned to good times Tennant was out :< I mostly watched it for him really.

Everything else I end up watching is streamed from someone online or on YT. Like MLP:FiM.

Bored to Death got canceled after three seasons which I'm super-sad about. I really enjoyed its entire run. In the mean time, I've been seeing The Big Bang Theory, 30 Rock, How I Met Your Mother, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Psych just whenever they're on. 30 Rock is probably my new favorite show except they're canceling that next year too, probably. I guess having your heart broken is part of the series-following experience.

I've been meaning to pick up Breaking Bad since I just keep hearing it's really good.

Ohmygod. There's a deaf TV show called Switched at Birth, and I'm totally loving it. It shows the deaf culture while showing the ramifications of the teenage years, etc. I am so watching this over House MD every Monday. :J

I was following Sherlock, until it ended. Gotta wait for Season 3. Also, waiting for Dr. Who.

At the moment, I've been watching Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, which is awesome. I've also been trying to catch Heston's Mission Impossible, but I've only seen a couple. Every Monday and Thursday, it's all about the Masterchef Australia. I'd watch it every day if I could, but it's on at 11am. I'm at college most of the time at that point and I have no way to record it. Not happy.

Also, watching Jackass and DS9 at my own rate.
