Oh wow, someone actually voted for me, ironically for best layout too. :p

Looking at that results list, it kind of bothers me how many duplicate users are on that list. Notably, Onyx/Bloodstar, Ninetales/Raspberry, and--c'mon, really?--CPUBasic/cpubasic13. I think there should be a rule in place to prevent this next time these are done to prevent peoples' votes from possibly getting split and thus miscounted (as was the case with devin/Super Salami Man at first--he ended up tying with himself).

I thought maybe a rule like "force people to vote for the user's current username, throw out any votes that belong to users that aren't in the memberlist" would work, but I realize that that'd disqualify any people that aren't registered on Jul currently (which would be bad for categories like "Most missed"), and it'd almost defeat the purpose of such a rule because it just throws away extra votes (as opposed putting them into a duplicate user).
So I dunno.

Xkeeper got a vote for "Best newbie". What.

Also, apparently I got a vote for "Most likely to be the final boss"? How. And also both votes for "Most likely to ramble on about sardines for hours" and "Quietest". I guess when I do talk it's only about sardines. That's probably a pretty good trait to have.

I tidied up the results some more, fixing the other duplicates mentioned. This didn't cause any upsets for the winners except for the Devin/Super Salami Man one that was fixed previously. Same link.

I do agree that for the voting process next year, a more comprehensive system should be in place. For newbie, it'd have to be anyone registered within the last X amount of months. Same with most missed but inactive for X amount of months, etc. I would be happy to write it up, I'd really only need the names/fields of the tables to get started and Xkeeper or whoever has FTP access would upload it.

Yeah, this is another thing about having one person count the votes instead of having the votes anonymous. When organizing them they are kept secret from most everyone so they can't be corrected.

Eh, in any case I just think the results are kinda boring. There are quite a few interesting votes there though, like Dairy Dipper for Most Missed.

Damn you people and your changing names!

I think it should be that when the Mosts votes are active, you can't post again until you complete the voting process. That would help give more varied and detailed results.

Oh man, I actually had the second most votes and only won one thing! This must be what it feels like to be The Curious Case of Benjamin Button post-Oscar season.

It's still pretty awesome, though, unlike that maudlin romp of a film.

Forcing people to vote would be an excellent way to suck the fun out of the whole thing.

Really, aside from the general lack of participation and the name change issue, I don't think there are any serious problems with the Mosts. I think the former could be solved by promoting the event a bit more (and further in advance): change the board banner, hold mock "debates" for people to explain why they deserve votes, offer participants something neat (like an "I Voted!" badge), things like that. Like democratic elections, but without all the stupid depressing bullcrap. The latter issue can be solved by simply having more than one active member verify and correct the results.

I noticed a little error in the results:

Is 4 the second highest number of votes for Funniest? If so, I should've won second there - as far as I can tell, I've got one more than hydrapheetz. Of course, I could be making a mistake, since the table's a bit tough to read...

I'm actually pretty tickled that, if I read it right, I was runner-up for best of the best.

Thanks guys.

That was the Bloodstar/Onyx thing I guess. There were 2 votes for your alter ego, Onyx, and 2 for Bloodstar. You would be the runner up.

Interesting how there's a 4-way tie for second-most total votes. Me, Anya, MM88, Sofi, all with 22.

Divining the data, I see that I actually did far better this Mosts than I'd expect.

At least, I got the second-most votes total (tied with a bunch of people) and I came closer than I thought as far as layout/smartest/etc.

Having seen all the Mosts for this board, I think it may be best if the next one goes to a top 3 or (depending on participation) top 4. The issue with the Mosts has seemingly been that people are being recognized, but people seem to 'cop out' and answer Xkeeper for everything. We should just give Xkeeper the 'ultimate award' and focus more on the other people--since, as Xkeeper himself has noted in past Mosts, there's other more worthy people for certain awards.

You mean allowing you to vote for 3/4 people per category? If so, that was the case this year. Just not everyone voted for multiple people. There were a lot of singles or blanks.

I think he means to mention the top three winners instead of just the top two.

Anyway, I don't really take the Mosts seriously (it's probably best that way), but it's nice to win a thing or two for once. As such, thanks, everyone.

P.S. I think "Anna" and "Auxiliatrix" are the same person, Orlandu.

Yeah, show the top three winners, not 3/4 people per category. It's pretty hard to vote for multiple people per category for me.
