Wouldn't it be more logical to eat Italian food of some sort on Columbus Day?

| I firmly believe that in Maine, we should celebrate both Thanksgivings. Mostly because I want an excuse to cook up my Spinach & Artichoke dip again sometime soon. ![]() ____________________ |

Oh man, I'm still sick. I'm going to spend today watching TV series I've burned to DVD or something. Too bad my DVD player turns out to be like nonfuctioning.

Oh how I want ham now. I'm not usually a fan of turkey since my grandmother eats all the dark meat WHILE COOKING, and I hate the light meat. While luckily, when it comes to ham they barely touch it. But they probably fear I'll use the serving fork to poke their eyes out. /fatty

| More people should eat Kangaroo steaks. They're pretty great. |

Why don't people like dark meat? It's so much juicier and it's got all the flavor. Who cares if it has the fat? There's a huge difference between white and dark turkey meat that it's not funny.
But if Colin wants to eat all the shitty parts of the turkey, be my guest. :J Kangaroo tastes like beef, by the way, but it's a lot leaner and healthier. Same with ostrich. I really wish we had those readily available around here because I'd eat them all the time. I want to make my very own rooburger. ____________________ About the author: A prolific contributor to Jul with some 2159 posts published, Sofi better fancies herself as a cinema geek, a composer, an occasional gamer, a budding fashionita, an absolute cooking newbie and a general life enthusiast-satirist. There's a local meat store here, actually, that sells all sorts of meat including lion and bear. It's pretty awesome. Julia Child used to shop there.

Suddenly I'm tempted to order another hard-boiled Ostrich egg. It's actually got a really nice flavour, but it takes hours to cook.

You've had ostrich egg? Those things are insane. You have to like drill them open or something. I totally want to scramble some, though, and be that one awesome person who makes a huge thing of exotic scrambled eggs for a potluck. I could use different cultivars of onions to accentuate the texture and flavor and use sea salts of the world along with some more obscure and complex spices to replace ground lack peppercorn like grains of paradise or something. And crème fraîche, of course.
Or I could bake 1,152 cookies. ____________________ About the author: A prolific contributor to Jul with some 2161 posts published, Sofi better fancies herself as a cinema geek, a composer, an occasional gamer, a budding fashionita, an absolute cooking newbie and a general life enthusiast-satirist. I have to agree on the dark meat > light meat thing... that's where the flavor is, surely? (Though turkey is not my thing in any case)
