In the time before time, all of existence consisted of six people: Enāra, the goddess of light; Erina, the goddess of darkness; Kaena, the goddess of the mind; Aume, the goddess of instinct; Vāla, the goddess of fertility; and Sila, the goddess of death. Whilst their power is boundless, their knowledge is not: and so, one day, they conspired to create a being gifted with infinite knowledge. They pooled their unending power together, and so created the queen-goddess Āmāne, and, inadvertently, our universe, with forty thousand or so brothers and sisters.

Not long after Āmāne's birth, though, they saw the strategic value of her omniscience, and so began using it to fight against one another, warping entire universes to their will. Eventually, though, Āmāne forced them to cease their bickering, and the fighting ceased for a short while. Eventually, though, they figured out a way to fool Āmāne: by creating the Treaty-World, a seemingly perfect universe. Many aeons later, though, Āmāne would sense something amiss in the Treaty-World, and empower a small band of its mortal inhabitants to fix it. That is where our story begins.
