I think it more has to do with the people than the actual off season.

Death aside, the hockey offseason is my one break from... well hockey.

(I do not like hockey, so the offseason is a time to relax and not have to see hockey on TV)

I went to a free hockey games when I worked in the mall ages ago. We got free tickets since the arena is across the street. It was fun seeing it live but I find it boring on TV.

Yea, but I would rather go to a Marlin game. But then again, I don't want to drive to Miami, even if its not that deep into MIA.

The same can probably be said for any NHL team, for that matter. I did go to an ice rink my brother works at in Orlando though. It was a nice place to cool off. They have 2 ice rinks here in Vegas, too

I almost went into hockey. I'm actually decent at ice skating. I'm just too skinny to be a hockey player, or so my parents thought.
