That's what I thought but I wasn't sure. I guess they just want everyone to know that Vader says "Noooooo!" when he's really emotional.

Han shot first, dammit.

(Seriously, I think Han shooting first in Episode IV is a lot better for Han's character development throughout the trilogy. At first he's a guy who only cares about himself, then later on he starts caring about his friends and other people. He went from a guy who'd just shoot without hesitation to someone with a heart.)

With that out of the way, the "Nooo!" seems unnecessary to me. It's pretty obvious from Vader lifting the Emperor (especially with the scenes after that) that Vader doesn't approve of the Emperor electrocuting his son. Maybe they wanted an excuse to add another "Nooo!" to the series?

Hey, George, why not do something awesome for a change and finance a complete remake of Episode 1 with someone competent at the helm? You might actually gain a few fans that way!
