Strange, it appears all of the links that Dark Linkaël made no longer exist like you said which sucks. I only have the US version of the hack(3 of them actually...). I will post the latest version of his hack here.

It should be noted that 2 of the rooms/folders in the Stage folder are modified versions of unused rooms on the final ISO. These 2 rooms are "A_R00" and "Linkael". These two folders that appear in the download don't appear on the final ISO as they do in this hack and should be treated as nothing more than hacks, not mystical unused rooms. The modified "A_R00" exists so that it could actually be a playable map since the original crashes when loaded from the final ISO. "Linkael" is just a hack of the room "Msmoke" that Dark Linkaël did for fun.

For how to use this hack, follow the instructions that are in the first section of this link.

Hope that helps.

Thanks a lot, this does indeed help a lot! I'm rebuilding the image now in hopes that it does indeed work with the proper fixes. This also taught me about GC ISOs as well so thanks again.

It is normal that the two links do not work, because I changed the location of the files since yesterday. I just released the new version of my site "Triforce Legend" (after 3 months of work). Here are the new links:

Files of The Wind Waker HACK (US Version)

Files of The Wind Waker HACK (EU Version)

These links may be temporary, as I count them elsewhere on the site. I think to a special section on my website about the hack on The Wind Waker. There will be new links will not move then.

I'm pretty busy the last few months, but I always watch what happens here.

I'm not sure if either of these things are known, but I was messing around with room states or whatever you want to call them, basically actor sets for maps.

The top of Tower of the Gods on the sea stage (Room26) has ACT9 which loads Tetra at the top, partially wedged into the ground. This is actually interesting to me, perhaps suggesting the top of the island was actually going to be used instead of the current room in Siren at some point.

Link's Oasis on the sea stage (Room33) has ACTb which will spawn a Great Fairy that gives double magic after you destroy the Big Octo. Double magic is normally acquired from the Big Octo by 2 Eye Reef.

Headstone Island on the sea stage (Room45) has ACTb which will spawn a Korok and a wilted tree, while it is not normally there and not part of the quest.

Edit: There is also an actor for Tetra at the map at the top of Tower of the Gods (ADMumi), ACTb. This one is on the ground correctly.

The Big Octo freeing a Great Fairy and the wilted tree/Korok on Headstone Island are both unused, and should go on the page.

The Tetra actor in ADMumi, I believe, is used by the game during the cutscene when the King of Red Lions is talking to Valoo after the second run on the Forsaken Fortress. It's common for the cutscenes to use actors to load models instead of including the models in the archive. Probably to save space.

Now, I've known that the bell object, kui, is always loaded in Room26, even when the tower object is not (you can see it hanging in the sky with the telescope). Both this bell and the Tetra object in Room26 are unused, since Link rings the bell in ADMumi, and not the one on the ocean. These extra copies should go on the wiki, as well.

It should also be noted that if you ring the bell in Room26 by getting up there with cheats, nothing will happen. No cutscene will start, and the ringing sound effect won't even play. This is because the object that controls the cutscene that plays when you ring the bell doesn't exist in Room26, and the sound bank containing the bell's ringing ins't normally load in the Sea worldspace. Activating the bell still sets some kind of flag, though, because if you ring it and then get to the one you're normally supposed to ring, the cutscene will play upon Link spawning into the map.

I was just looking for a E3 2002 Metroid Prime video and ended up with a gameplay video with wind waker in it. Just thought it was interesting enough to share as I hadn't seen it before. Sorry if it's been posted already https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftf-3xh0ZoM

DAT

DRAGON

ROOST

CAVERN

This is why I support the idea that Dragon Roost Cavern was redesigned during the time between that demo and release.

For one, your only option from the start is to go to the room to Link's left. There's no way other way to go, compared to the final room where you can choose to go into that room or pass it and move along the wall next to the door.

Secondly, there's an island with a chest and a magtail on it in the center of the room. That's just a big ol' lava pit in the final.

Lastly, the monster-head-thing with a door as its mouth was moved to left from its original position, to Link's right.

If only we could get a copy of this demo! Who knows what kind of early maps we might find! Ugh...

An interesting video! There are also doors barricaded with the planks, it's a demo to do stuff like that... This means that the dungeon can not be visited at 100% in this version...

However, it is not clear that there is a lot of maps (like the E3 2006 demo of Twilight Princess is a total disinterest), but I hope the contrary, because it is older and we all know that The Wind Waker is a game with many unused stuff in the final version.

Too bad not to have a copy of this demo, though I especially want an older version...

Currently, I downloaded the iso "Interactive Multi-Game Demo Disc Version 9", there is a demo of The Wind Waker in the disc. The disc date of February 2003 was a month before the U.S. release. I do not know if there will be something interesting in it and if it is different from the demo in Zelda Collection (just to see if the Map Select exists or not). I would have preferred a Japanese version of the demo.

Tomorrow, I would look at this demo of the game in detail.

Its worth a shot to look around in the demo but don't kill yourself looking through it either. From what I understand, the demo disc was released on Feb 15, 2003 which is, as you mention, one month before the US release. However, it was also released two months after the Japanese release date(December 13, 2002). Most changes between the Japanese and demo release, if there are any to be found, will probably localization changes or unused materials already documented.

Let us know if you find anything

Of course, we should not expect to find a lot of stuff in this version...

Here are the first things I looked in the demo:

The Map Select exists in this demo.
This is a Japanese version with the same ID, but translated into English.
This is not the same demo that Zelda Collection. The three choices are different.

02/11/27 01:19:56 FINAL ----> JP
02/12/06 16:54:20 FINAL ----> JP/US DEMO FEB 2003
03/02/19 11:43:53 FINAL ----> US
03/03/17 19:33:15 FINAL ----> EU
03/09/26 16:45:37 FINAL ----> EU DEMO ZELDA COLLECTION

Map Select code :
0438D998 8038D478

It is even emptier than the demo of Zelda Collection!

Rooms available:
majroom
MajyuE
Mjtower
M_Dra09
M_DragB
M_NewD2
Name
sea
sea_T

I will continue the search.

EDIT :

Demo - Version Final :

Another thing, it lacks many texts outside the places to visit in the demo.
The letters are larger and are only three lines.
The texts are different.

New to the hacked version of The Wind Waker. I added a "Menu2.dat" file which is the translation of the Map Select and I kept the original file in japanese "Menu1.dat".

To activate the Map Select translated into English, just use the code below:

Map Select in english (NTSC-U)
04362DB8 322E6461

Map Select in english (PAL)
04369924 656E7532

The other change in the hacked version is the presence of two versions of the unused rooms. For example: "A_R00" (original) and "A_R00DL" (hacked). I thought it was better to keep most of the stuff origins in the hack. The Map Select has been a change to visit the unused rooms restored.

Cuber456, you always think about one day change the textures for "A_R00"? Several months ago, I reworked several textures and find the old textures in "VrTest" that are compatible with "A_R00". Here is the link:

This is good to have but I don't know if or when I will retexture A_R00. It isn't something that would be too difficult to do although I will have to relearn some of the steps to do it since it has been a while. I have been infatuated with the GBA Metroid protos lately and, to be honest, retexturing A_R00 has been far from my thoughts.

If I don't eventually get to doing it, I will give you what I have. I doubt that it would take you long to learn how to use Blender.

Blender can certainly be a pain to work with at times but this job would only require retexturing a model which shouldn't be too bad. It wouldn't be like creating a new custom model from scratch. That would be a steep learning curve.

I tested a little Blender, it is not easy, but I think it will, especially since it is not to rework the entire model, but only the textures.

Okay I don't know if this is used or not, and if not I don't know if it was posted before. I did a small search and turned up nothing, and I've never seen it anywhere, so I'll post it.

I was looking around the Hyrule map in WW, searching for a way to barrier skip, and I found what seems to be a spawn point for Link way out of bounds beyond the canyon.
I don't know if it's used for the cutscenes though...

@Kargaroc
I think it is most likely unused. There is no way you can normally spawn there unless you use the debug menu but that is an exception. What cut scenes actually happen in Hyrule? If my memory serves me right, there are maybe 2 cut scenes. One happens when you first discover Hyrule and the second one is when you destroy the wall around the castle. Neither of those scenes spawn you there to my knowledge. It is definitely interesting.

That isn't the only map to have spawn points like that. I can remember one of the maps for the Forsaken Fortress having a bunch of spawn points up in the sky where it would make no sense to have spawn points. I think the map was either for the fight against the Helmaroc King or it was for the inside of Ganondorf's Keep(The place where you first actually talk to Ganondorf). Unfortunately, I can't remember the names of these maps/groups but it wouldn't be too hard to figure out by using Wind Viewer and looking at each map set up. Either that or someone else, like Gamma or Dark Linkaël, can tell you .
