The room 19 in "Siren" did not need to spawn point if there is a connection to the door. This is the case of "Msmoke" in the room 1.

If I restore unused rooms in "Siren", I would not use the method of spawn points for Link. It is enough that I make a connection between the doors, but it is not simple for now. Slowly, I learned to know the operation of the doors with tests in "Cave08".

EDIT : After several hours of work, I restored "Cave08" putting all the other rooms of Wind Temple. It works well, although it took me to put the collision of the Room 2 from the final version. The old refused to use a few doors.

I just finished the old room mini-boss in "Siren" by adding a new room in the iso, "Siren23" is his name. I used the Stage.arc modified of "SirenMB".

I find it strange that it is not possible to move the chests in Wind Viewer, is this normal? I succeeded in hacking the file with a hex editor.

Well, I succeeded in make the unused rooms "Siren" playable with the file Stage.arc of "Siren"! How did I do? I modified the file Stage.arc of "Siren" by removing or adding certain things. The result is really good! I can not do more, but I think that's enough.

"SirenDL" for the unused rooms of the Tower of Gods.
"Siren23" for the mini-boss room.

I changed the Map Select by adding the unused rooms of "Siren". Update your iso of game with the new files from the links below:

Files of The Wind Waker HACK (US Version)

Files of The Wind Waker HACK (EU Version)

I put new screenshots the unused rooms on TCRF.

Do not forget to test "Cave08" by going directly to the room 2.

I must be an idiot. I can't seem to get the files from "SirenDL" loaded in game. It should just be as simple as coping everything in SirenDL and placing it in Siren and then rebuilding the ISO, or am I wrong?

On another note, I don't know if I was the only one with this problem but WW would run slowly in Dolphin sometimes. I posted in the support section on the dolphin forum and they gave me a tip on increasing the speed of the game within Dolphin and it works beautifully(at least for me). Quoting what was posted there:

"If you want, you can edit GZLE01.ini (or GZLP/GZLJ if you have a PAL/Japanese copy of the game) in the GameConfig folder to make EFBToTextureEnable = True."

The only slight downside to doing this is that you can't really use the pictobox. It will be sluggish to take pictures and they will all be black. For us, that shouldn't matter too much since we are just hacking. Hopefully this helps you guys and let me know if it works for you as well.

I said that the Game ID hacked is "TWWP01".

Do not forget to "Game.toc" for it adds new files.

The config of The Wind Waker on Dolphin works very well for me, I do not change. I just have a problem with graphics in the first dungeon.

Tomorrow, I'll fix some problems, because I have seen things no good. There will be a new update.

Here is an interesting video. It is a documentary on the Legend of Zelda series made in 2003. It talks a little about the development history of each game. I only watched the Wind Waker section but the developers say that the Wind Waker (Baton) was originally a theremin. Interesting stuff.

Today, I concentrate on the unused rooms of "M_NewD2". The two rooms were rather difficult to restore because of a problem shift is visible on Wind Viewer. (The model and collision are not together)

I usually like to add new screenshots for "M_NewD2" on site TCRF and I updated to the hacked files.

How would that have worked, though? Interesting concept, but seems like it'd be hard to implement.

On a theremin, pitch is controlled by your right hand and volume by your left. Now that I think of it, this is basically how the Wind Waker works: pitch is controlled by the C-stick (on the right) and volume by the control stick (on the left).

I finished!

All rooms unused in The Wind Waker are now playable for the first time since the game's release in 2002! The work was quite challenging for me, because some of the rooms were very tough as those of "kaze" and "M_Dai" for example. "Siren" was far more simple to restore.

M_NewD2
The old entrance room of the first dungeon and the old room of the Boss Key.

Siren
Two old rooms in Tower of Gods. The old boss room and the top of the Tower of Gods. The old mini-boss room with Darknut.

M_Dai
The old entrance room of the Earth Temple.

kaze
These are two rooms visible from another room when Link opens a door. This is the mini-boss room and boss room of the Wind Temple. Note that the second room works the same way as the Tower of Gods.

If you want to play these rooms, you must make a copy of the iso of the game and use the new modified files:

Files of The Wind Waker HACK (US Version)

Files of The Wind Waker HACK (EU Version)

The Map Select now has all the unused rooms in The Wind Waker. There are 10 lines added to the list.

Now I'm going to rest, because it was really very hard work!

Mission accomplished!

Well I am still an idiot it seems. I tried to replace all the files/folders from your hack into the iso but when GCRebuilder tries to open the root folder, it errors out and says

"File '...root\res\Stage\Cave08' not found"

This is strange since Cave08 IS in the stage folder. I literally replace everything from your hack into the iso. What am I doing wrong?

Regardless, it is impressive that we can access all the rooms on the ISO now. I still need to make a proper model for A_R00 though. I don't know when I will get to that.... I'm hoping to have it done by the game's 10th anniversary on December 13th.

In GCR, go to "Option" and "Do not use 'game.toc'". It is very important to prevent error messages such as "Cave08" or another. If there is still a problem, I try to check for the US version. Replaces properly well all the old files with the new files.

A_R00 is the last room that needs work, then we can truly say that we can visit all the rooms in The Wind Waker, 10 years after its release in Japan!

In the meantime, maybe I'll do some testing to "TF_03", this room uses the file Stage.arc of "TF_05", which is not properly a good thing.

Yes that worked. I never used that option before and didn't think to use in now either but it did work. Thanks!

Yes, this is an option you do not use, but it is useful for isos with more files in "Game.toc".

Have fun in new unused rooms, it's really nice to be able to play now. Tell me what you think of this hack.

EDIT : Small update files hacked, the room "TF_03" now has adequate lighting from "M_NewD2".

I liked it in total darkness, but it was not a good lighting for "TF_03".

Do not forget to update "TF_03" in your hacked iso of The Wind Waker.

EDIT : Good news, I succeeded in restore maximum "TF_03"!

1) Use an arrow to the eye above the doors closed. Do all four doors.
2) Defeat the Moblin in four small rooms.
3) Defeat the Armos Knight in the main room to open the last door closed.
4) Open the chest in the last room (10 rupees, an item that I used default).
5) Return to the first room to exit the "TF_03."

That is to summarize what was "TF_03" in the past! Everything is original except the contents of the chest and exit. So you know what to add on TCRF for the "TF_03".

As usual, I updated the hacked files for all who want to discover in TWW.

So far, I think it is a nice hack. When I have more time I will explore more of the unused rooms and mention any problems if they arise.

I regret not doing the A_R00 texture mod sooner now as I am getting swamped with work. I really hope I can have it done by the 10 year anniversary. My question is did you or Gamma ever find a way to modify the scale of trees(L_wood)?

Well, at least the hack works very well. Just avoid falling into the void in some unused rooms.

It's fun, but your question I can answer half. Today I started to test the change objects in the entrance room of "TF_03". I changed "Bonbori" in many things, including "Lwood!" For some reason, I saw a tree much larger than usual, this was also the case of other objects. In my opinion, the size of the tree that I saw seemed pretty good to add in "A_R00". However, I do not know how to change the size, because I was doing something else, but it should not be very complicated. I try to see tomorrow.

I have done that so many times. It always happens in rooms with doors like in Room23 of Siren. I beat the Miniboss and try to leave through the door only to jump out into the blackness of oblivion .

Do what you can. Gamma might also know how to do this.

I think one of the few remaining mysteries to us is still that "3rd Controller (A): Demo 23" option. Of all the demos it could list, why is demo 23 so important? I hope one day we can figure that out....

This is the only room I put a door and chest, so just avoid opening the door.

I want to know as much as possible about how TWW, I've heard great things during the hack unused rooms and especially of "Cave08". Two years ago, research on TWW was quite low.

For Demo 23, there is that Nintendo knows the mystery... Unless a prototype reveals something about the subject. I want prototypes of TWW is a veritable obsession!

There is a little more than 10 years, I spit on this Zelda very unjustly! Since this is one of my favorite games and a treat to dig! The adventure of TWW is not finished for hackers like us!

I am always hoping that some prototype of this game gets leaked but I feel that I shouldn't hold my breath either. Leaks of prototypes from Nintendo are rare and we should be lucky we got the debug versions of OoT and MM. However, I am still keeping my eye out on ebay for a prototype. I know the chance is low but some prototypes of other games have surfaced there and perhaps a prototype of this game might as well. If I ever see anything, I will let you know. I wish I knew where else to look.

It is funny that you mention research on the game was low two years ago. I literally bought the game and played it two years ago, not because I disliked and waited to play it but because I only got back into the Zelda series. It ties for first place on my list between MM and SS for being unique to the series. MM had a huge time element involved, WW has a unique art style to the whole series and introduced sea exploration and SS introduced the motion controls which work nicely. I tend to group OoT and TP lower than the other three.

That being said, those top three games for me would be the ones I would really want to hack into.

I know the prototypes of Zelda are closely monitored, it does not go unnoticed on the web. The prototype of Zelda 1 is considered a wonder of great rarity! Still, I never thought that I would see a prototype of Zelda! So everything is possible, but I doubt for TWW, but I hope I'm wrong!

If I did not have my new computer (February 2011), I could never do all this research on TWW! For one simple reason, too horribly slow! But now, finally I enjoy a maximum. Otherwise, I will celebrate 19 years of the discovery of Zelda (December 1993 with A Link to the Past, my favorite Zelda). TWW contains what I've always loved, sea and islands! I do a lot of history on this universe.

Of all the games I've hacked since 1998, TWW is one of the best! I'm not talking about prototypes, but just final versions. Other games are mainly on PC, but the old dating from 90.

I want to know what game has more unused rooms than in TWW. I do not know!

EDIT : About Trees "lwood" I noticed that it is possible to change the size of an object located in "SCOB" and not "ACTR" I do not know if it will be good for "A_R00".

By cons, it is not easy to change the size precisely. I changed a bit, it did something huge and almost flat.

I'm not too surprised that changing a mere byte of data will cause a huge change. I once had to manually edit some of the bbMin and bbMax numbers in a BDL to 10000 when I was creating the first BDL model for A_R00 using a hex editor. Trying to change to 10000 was a bit of a pain because the bytes that were suppose to represent the bbMin and bbMax didn't have an obvious pattern to them. Changing one byte would make the bbMin and bbMax values change erratically.

What I would recommend is the following. Try changing values of the position of an object within windviewer and note the byte changes within a hex editor. I'm hoping that if you can understand how this byte system works with position, you can use it to learn how to change the size appropriately. I hope this makes sense.
