There's a weird inconsistency, in that dsi games let you watch videos right from the store, but the 3ds videos need to be downloaded and installed first then I assume played from the home screen, like the music video. I'd rather they not have to be installed to disk, then played from home menu, then uninstalled to free up the space from the video I'll only watch once.

I just got a 3DS as a graduation gift from my dad. (yay!)

So yeah... I just downloaded all the free software and now it's just sitting there until some game that is worth buying is released.

I tried excitebike, and I guess it's an okay game. I'd have tons of fun with the level editor for it if I found the gameplay fun. I have tried excitebike in the past and it's just not my type of game.

Pokedex with you at all time? Awesome, now if only you could use it mid battle in pokemon on the same system, that would be great!

If you like Zelda, you don't have much time to wait. Ocarina of Time 3D is coming out next weekend, on the 19th.


For the trailers, they wouldn't have changed it without reason. Though you intend to watch them only once, I know a couple of people who save them all and watch them several times each. In those cases, it's both more convenient for the users and the servers, having to send the whole video only once for multiple viewings.

I'm unsure about zelda, I might buy it so I simply have something now on the system to play. (So far the extra content is not selling the game for me.)

I do hope they show something awesome so it's a must buy, otherwise I may wait until paper mario comes out or something else that I find interesting.

Rayman 3D and Pilotwings Resort are pretty cool.
I recommend you get those games.
I`m looking foward to playing the new Mario games & OoT around this year.

Rayman is a rerelease IIRC, and I tried pilotwings at gamestop, it's simply not a game I'm going to spend 500-600SEK on. :/

Having a system without any games for is no excuse for me to go out and buy games that I don't generally care for, and even then are over priced.

If you don't already have a DSi, remember that the 3DS can also buy/play any DSiWare. In fact, just today I bought Shantae.


I also bought Link's Awakening and Mario vs. Donkey Kong.

Yeah I have been thinking about getting Shantae and possibly might flip champs. The problem I have had is that I don't know enough about these games to make an educational decision about if it's worth it or not. Which is a huge factor for me about buying anything.

If it's of any help, it's always an educated choice to buy Cave Story. :x I spent my first $20 card on that, Link's Awakening, and Anonymous Notes 1 - From the Abyss-, which is a neat little pseudoroguelike for $2.

Speaking about the 3DS Shop/DSiWare/WiiWare... Nintendo's moved their weekly downloads to Thursdays starting this week from Mondays. So expect new VC games for the Shop as well as other goodies then.

I knew Rayman is a release. I had the game before when I was little and I lost it.
Which is the reason I bought Rayman DS,and it wasn`t good.
And now I have Rayman 3D,which is perfect.

Last night I started playing Shantae. I love the game so far, but I dunno, something about playing DS/i games on the 3DS feels weird. The "true size" mode is too small for me, and the stretch size... something about it makes it hard for me to focus on it for extended periods of time. I could have been tired, so I'll try again later when my eyes are rested.

I beat Super Mario Land.

In the words of BitF, Super Mario Land is weird.

I'm also up to level 5 in Link's Awakening.

I honestly don't have any problems with the stretched mode. Everything looks fine to me so far, and that includes on DS games (Yoshi's Island DS, Final Fantasy 3, Pokemon SoulSilver).
