That's not a bad idea, transferring everything to the camera, then on the 3DS. But will it work?

Okay well in the mean time I managed to get the file on the SD card. But the problem is in the last step of the conversion.

Running this:

ffmpeg -y -i "left.avi" -i "right.avi" -vcodec copy -acodec adpcm_ima_wav -ac 2 -vcodec copy -map 0:0 -map 0:1 -map 1:0 "VID_0001.AVI"
Gives me an error about the number of streams. Reading the comments led me to this:

ffmpeg -y -i "left.avi" -i "right.avi" -vcodec copy -acodec adpcm_ima_wav -ar 22050 -ab 32 -ac 2 -vcodec copy "VID_0001.AVI" -newvideo -map 0:0 -map 0:1 -map 1:0 -ss 00:00:00 -t 00:09:59.90
Which seems to convert one of the video channels to MPEG-4 instead of MJPEG, even though both say "-vcodec copy" and both source files are in MJPEG. Any ideas guys?

Finally took a look a the Youtube App on a friend's 3DS (where wireless actually works).

Welp, buggy app is crashy. Subtitles could have also been handled better. The video quality could have been handled better.

Hope they fix it in the next updates!

YouTube on the 3DS is literally just a video-capable browser stuck to YouTube. I forgot how but I believe there's even a way to ditch YouTube by heading to the right combo of pages and go to other video player sites, where you'll find the video quality is much better, at the cost of rather nasty buffering times, likely why YouTube was locked to such low video quality.

This probably also explains why it lacks 3D video capability. I wonder if, in this sort of browser video player mode, it'd be possible at all for them to run a 3D video, which would be twice as wide as a normal one.

I hear Google is the one who makes YouTube apps, which might be why they went with this kinda odd solution. I imagine running through a browser rather than streaming directly would make it run worse, I just hope this doesn't keep us from ever having native 3D video support. I tire of converting converted videos through conversions of conversions and being unsure if the resulting video's lack of 3D wow is due to high expectations or the converter.

At least sometime next year I'll have the Oculus Rift to handle my PC based 3D video needs. I'll never have to convert a video to 3DS 3D format again, and I can remember that the 3DS is intended to be a game system.

That's not true! It works with 3D glasses, I swear!

Jokes aside, by what I have seen, they still could have handled YouTube better.

For anyone who missed out last time, Four Swords is free on the 3DS eShop for the next 4 days.

Edit: Looks like it's the North America eShop only.

The embarrassing thing is that I've managed decent quality on 240p in a size about the same as YouTube's; a mere 22MB for over 11 minutes. I think it's just their abysmal player forcing them to go worse quality.

I just beat the final level of Yoshi's New Island, from the same developers who brought you Yoshi Topsy-Turvy and Yoshi's Island DS: Baby Harder, Arzest. (Formerly Artoon.)

Okay... after many updates...
Youtube App is crashy as hell.
The only thing that works is turning hd off... and then suffer through buffer issues...which pausing it won't let it buffer. WTF.

It wasn't completely un-enjoyable, but I can't play it with seeing every little way in which they tried to duplicate Yoshi's Island without putting all the thought/effort they could have. They got the visuals down for the most part, but they failed to capture the charming details that made the original game so memorable. Wing clouds drop straight down without any acceleration when struck. Aside from Shy Guys, enemies that came in multiple colors (like Lantern Ghosts) only come in a single color. A number of enemies from the old game were brought back seemingly just for the sake of having them, even when they don't fit the level. Almost every single level theme correlates to the same level in the original game, or at least the same world. I mean, for crying out loud, the Chomp Rock's texture is just the Chomp Rock sprite from the original game. It has a lower-resolution appearance than everything else and doesn't look good. I could go on, but yeah.

I guess it's one of those games where it's decent on its own, but falls flat when compared to the thing it's trying to emulate. I'm sure it will at least be a fun experience for kids who never played the original. Or the GBA remake.

It also has some buggy physics.

I had a lot of similar gripes with Yoshi's Island DS. It's a shame they apparently didn't learn much from the feedback on that game.

So I've been having a problem with my 3DS.

Occasionally, when I close it for a bit and open it again, the screens will be black and unlit, as if the system is turned off--but the power light will remain on, and it won't turn off without me holding the button down for a full minute or two (if I'm lucky). It's only happened a couple of times now, but it's really worrying me.

Any idea what's going on?

If your warranty is still valid, your best bet is to take it to a Nintendo repair shop. This used to happen to one of my 3DSes, but I can't remember how I resolved it. Maybe take note of how long it's in sleep mode every time, or if it's being moved around a lot. I remember it only happened when I left it in-game in sleep mode for 8+ hours.

is the power light pulsing as if it was in sleep mode? kinda sounds like it might be the sensors bugging out.

My question to you is what are you doing that leads up to your stated problem? Does it happen when you close your 3DS at random or at a particular moment? I can actually get my 3DS to do what you are saying on command (not that there is any use for it to crash on command). This doesn't happen with all games but if I load a particular game on my 3DS and close it while the game displays the ”Nintendo 3DS” logo, I get the same result you are getting. Black unlit screens with the power light on (not pulsing). My suggestion is this, don't close the 3DS when you load up a game.

Honestly its not something I would worry about if your 3DS is crashing in the same way mine is. In my case, it makes sense that putting the system to sleep when a game is suppose to be loading would screw something up.
