It's just asking if you want to give the person a "Fantastic" rating or not (the number of those received can be seen on a person's profile). "Okay I guess" has no other function past denying a Fantastic rating.

Well, after leaving my 3DS alone on a table for a week, it's working again now.

Something's up with the Y button now, however. It seems to have a life of its own, as the 3DS now seems to think it's always being held down. I guess that problem isn't as serious as if the A Button stopped working, but I've encountered some rather terrible problems ever since the Y Button started screwing over as such.

Here's what I discovered so far:
Internet Browser - Webpages keep automatically zooming out. Every time I try to zoom back in it'll put up a fight until I give up. Every single time.

Mario Tennis Open - Touch Screen doesn't work, unable to erase data. Also I can't use the powerful flat serve.
Luigi's Mansion 2 - When I start a level, the dark light device automatically switches on, then once it turns off that's it. I'm not able to do anything else other than walk around.
StreetPass Garden - Can't set my favourite garden area. And when I prepare to take a photo of my plants, I can zoom in but not back out again.
Face Raiders - Can't get advice on the level selection screen.
Nintendo Letter Box - Touch screen doesn't work here either. All I can do is look at the letters I currently have (can't create any more because of the touch screen not responding here).

Also if I put the 3DS down on a table in a certain way it automatically turns itself off. I had just spent some Play Coins on StreetPass Mii Plaza when I had to answer a phone call. Put my 3DS down and it turned itself off. Alas, I didn't get those coins back either...

Nevertheless I'm "Coping" just fine. Might try the rice idea actually to see if it heals the Y button and/or the random shutting down.

Much like what m64m said before, you should just call Nintendo Support here.

It's clear the water has damaged your system (including the touch screen, which is why it doesn't work properly).

Ditto this. Bumwill, its clear that, even though it turns on, your 3DS didn't get away unharmed.

I think you have a different definition of the word coping than I do. I would call that putting up with a damaged device. This isn't just a simple problem(ie a dead pixel) that can be overlooked. You can't actually enjoy the games you are playing. You didn't mention if any game cartridges suffered damage so, from the sound of it, only your 3DS was affected. It also sounds like you still have save data retained which is good. If you were to do a system transfer to a new 3DS then you should be all set. I would imagine that should be something Nintendo could do if you contacted Nintendo Support.

Given time, your 3DS "might" become more stable but it might also become worse. Now I am just a broken record but I recommend contacting Nintendo Support.

I exchanged my XL because of a dead pixel. I was too distracted by it :/

I would bring it to a repair center immediately. Doing a transfer on his own would be an extremely dangerous move considering the system shuts off without warning.

Well I didn't say it wouldn't be distracting. I just implied that such a device is still functional to enjoy playing games on. My old fat DS has a dead pixel on the touch screen. It was slightly distracting at first but then I realized how old the device was.

Oh gee... I didn't mean to imply that if I did. I meant that Nintendo or whatever repair company should do it for him. For him to do it on his own would risk losing save data if the 3DS shuts off, as you imply. Although... if the touch screen isn't working.... I'm not sure he could do it by himself anyway since you need to go to system setting which is almost exclusively controlled using the touch screen.

That's one of the reasons I wouldn't like a system to have most of the settings, among other things, to be touch only.
Couldn't the d-pad be used as a fail safe in case something goes wrong with the touch screen, especially for portable video game consoles?

I agree. I don't understand why the settings are exclusively controlled using the touch screen. Why not be able to use both the touch screen and buttons(D pad, A button, B button)? Even brightness control is touch screen only. I mean, I guess in most instances it doesn't really matter but if the company can get OoT ported to the 3DS, don't tell me they can't add these small features in a system update .

EDIT: Just spoke with a friend of mine who has a 2DS, and it apparently controls brightness and WiFi. Welp.

Hmmm there is no wireless switch on the 2DS? You have go to this menu setting instead to turn the wireless off? Actually, it looks like the 2DS doesn't have a power saving mode as well, according to this picture.

Using a wireless switch would require another extra 100$ to the 2DS price, so we can't possibly have anything. :I

Part of me wishes power saving mode is still there, just under a different "Settings menu".
