The only real drawback is that it's a bit harder to find (affordable) XL-compatible accessories (like battery packs), but that's a pretty minor gripe.

I haven't seen any XL stylus packs in stores. Are they the same as the DSiXL stylus? The nub on my XL stylus is already wearing down a bit :/

Apparently the DSi XL stylus will fit in the 3DS XL's stylus holder, but very loosely.

You can also use an original telescoping 3DS stylus, it just won't look as nice.

Oh, cool. Didn't know that. A standard DSi one fits loosely as well.

Hmmmmm, I think I've decided that I'm gonna get one of the fancy Pokemon X/Y 3DS XLs once I get the money for it. It should only be a few days, hopefully there's no overwhelming demand that will cause them to go out of stock before I can get one. I checked with my local EB Games and they said I could get $67 for my current black 3DS which I can put towards the new XL.

Edit:
Hey, look what I got. Last one too.

New trailer for Zelda: A Link Between Worlds from NY Comic-Con!

<object width="420" height="315"><embed src="//www.youtube.com/v/O_auhDR8VjU?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

  • The villain is capturing maidens in paintings, including Zelda. She has the power to turn into a drawing, which Link later obtains through a magical bracelet.
  • The alternate world is called Lorule. (Get it?)
  • We get a glimpse at Lorule's equivalent of Link.

All I can say is I want it even more now.

I was going to get this game regardless of what trailers Nintendo put up for it but the story/setting/game mechanics looks interesting. It will be a nice complement to ALTTP. Actually, what I think is the most interesting move on Nintendo's part is allowing you to borrow items early on in the game which can allow you to play the game non linearly. That is a bit of a unique feature for this game since non linear gameplay hasn't been (or at least intended) in a Zelda game since the Legend of Zelda (Or maybe the Adventure of Link?). Compared to the original Zelda though, I think it will be enjoyable here.

By the way, apparently the game will have connections to a certain other Zelda game at some point.

Y'know, I immediately thought of that game at about 0:25. And, I can see it working too.

I already posted this on one thread in JUL but I think it is worth repeating for those who don't know. Pokemon X and Y apparently have a GAME BREAKING BUG. Watch out.

That doesn't look very good, especially to someone who likes to save the game as many times as possible (like me).

People seem to have a mixed opinion on how this bug affects the game though. Anyway, I'll see how much time I have to wait for a patch.

This is probably a matter I'm meant to discuss in the Officer's Club, but never mind.

Today at work my bag had a terrible leak from a bottle of water. My 3DS was in there (I tend to take it out with me just for StreetPass) and it had drowned from the water leakage. Now it won't turn on.

What should I do? The Operations Manual seems useless and I'm hoping not to lose all the stuff I've treasured on it for two years...

Call up Nintendo Support, explain the situation and see if they'll give you a quote for a repair job, or if you've got the cash then see if they'll do an account transfer to a new system.

For reference, if you get water within electronics it's best to not try and start it as that may fry things.

Adding onto this, it is better to let the electronic(s) dry out before turning them on again as the liquid will create unintended shorts which could do who knows what. The more complex the electronic, the more likely something will go wrong. I once had an RC helicopter and crashed it into snow and it didn't take long for the snow to melt onto the PCB. The chopper was unresponsive. I then took a can of air spray and aired down the PCB and the chopper worked fine. Granted, you probably can't do that to the degree of the 3DS unless you are feeling adventurous but the moral is let it dry out.

Yeah, it's best to let it dry out (I usually put paper towels around the affected item and blow-dryer it for a bit) before trying to start it up :\

oh, and Zero One, I added you as a friend. ADD ME PLZ (code is a couple posts up)

It's like working with the lights: you wouldn't want to fix them if the electrical current is not off.

Um, that's probably not the best comparision, but anyway, since almost a week had passed, is your 3DS working now?
Are there still any problems?

Shin Megami Tensei IV is pretty cool :V I wonder how far I can get before my Sonic Lost World comes in and I clear that and play the Luigi's Mansion I stil have sitting around and then Zelda and then hopefully finish both SMT4 and FE:A... lots of games =P Also it seems Pokemon X/Y only further bolstered sales: since then I keep getting lots of tags from new people at my school who are all playing the games... (alas I am not, at least not yet, as explained above)

Here's a general question: I once accidentally told someone in StreetPass Mii Plaza that they were "Okay, I guess..."; they haven't seemed to show up in StreetPass since. Does "Okay, I guess..." constitute a block? Or is this person just not showing up in person anymore? I know you repeatedly get asked about the same Miis after a certain number of tags so I was hoping I could remedy that error... :V Thanks.

I've accidentally selected "okay I guess" for my brother quite a few times, and his 3DS has still streetpassed with me. It's possible the other person has reached the 10-pass limit and hasn't taken those passes into the plaza. :3
