Well I had a quick look at the Shining Force 2 prototypes over at Hidden Palace and they are English localization prototypes. Of the 3 the two from June are fairly unremarkable so far but the April version is from before the localization team shifted a bunch of stuff around. The Caravan can't find half of what it normally would. The translation is still in an early stage and is good for a laugh.

This should probably be in the Mega Man 3 thread, but I sorta don't care.

I dunno if it's really worth it. I think it only has one or two bugs that weren't already present in the Japanese retail release.

HULLO.

Pretty much made an account just to say that two early preview builds of Biohazard (resident evil) have been donated to Hidden Palace. I'm gonna be taking a look at them but people with hacking experience should probably be looking at it too.

There's an early "prototype" of Ken's Labyrinth out there called "Walken". It's more like a proof of concept than an actual game, but it has quite a large amount of content (20 or so fully-working levels). I can't find anything in it that appeared in the final game.

Also, I have something Unreal-related for the wiki that nobody has known about before until now, but I need to see if my source of a source will let me make a page on it. He probably will, since someone else has already posted about it on another website.

EDIT: Source of a source says no-go on posting a page for now, but I can still work on it.

This may be late but I know two that aren't on the list Sonic the Hedgehog Game Gear Proto I'm not sure if it's got a page on Sonic Retro but it doesn't have any major differences aside from the proto using the sprite for Sonic that was used for the Master System version and there's also a prototype for Tecmo's Secret of the Stars I'm not sure if there are any differences however it is as giltchy as fuck you can't leave the hero's house for some reason talking to your mother repeatedly crashes the game so does searching the places where you can find items the biggest differences I have noticed was the title does not have Tecmo above Secret of the Stars, there is no licenced by Nintendo in the opening titles and pressing start just skips to the start of the game instead of skipping an opening title.

I know they're bad, but you don't have to try that hard to avoid periods.

I added pages for Bonkers protos for Genesis that I originally had on X-cult before it decided to die =p They all came from drx's Sega Archive release, which probably still has plenty of undocumented things in there. I'll have to force myself to look into another one of them sometime Last I looked the Bernstein Bears or whatever they're called had several protos with lots of changes. Much like Bonkers it'd be for the sheer fun of seeing differences rather than cuz I like the game though, since it's not that fun. Though I sorta warmed up to bonkers after spending so much time it

There's also X-Men 2 which is filled with so many differences it's ridiculous. That whole drx release really needs more attention.

If there's a list, I could take a look and see if there's any I'm really familiar with. As it stands now, however, I'm not nearly as familiar with the stuff on the Genesis consoles as I am with the Nintendo consoles, so I'm not sure how much help I'll be in the matter.

Public demos count as prototypes, right? Once I get the System Shock article (mostly) finished I'd like to go through the 1-level demo and detail some of the tweaks that were made to the level, and other things.
