Is this is direct enough a prototype to be listed as a Star Fox one? (I may be misinterpreting something here)

It seems more like it's a prototype of, well, X, not Star Fox...

I can make an article showing ALL the differences between this prototype and the final version, which you can see 14 minutes of it right here.

And here are videos of each modes that I recorded myself:
- Pix Quartet (Hurray for Super Mario Land sample music!)
- Beat Hopper (REALLY HARD GAME!)
- Star Fly (Pretty much a music box.)

Ice Sweeper game mode is missing, and all you're seeing right there have been changed drastically in many ways in the final version! (Too bad it's unreleased...)

If I remember correctly (from reading an interview about the history of Star Fox development, maybe it was an Iwata Asks article?), the NESglider prototype was the in-between of StarGlider and X, the proof-of concept to nintendo that let them develop X and then continue with what would become Star Fox.

That SNES version, though? Assuming there's no hint of a build date present in the dump at all, the interface looks a lot like the Starglider/X interface (compared to the cockpit view of Star Fox), and since the satellites and tanks present in the proto are very similar to the X and x-scape models, I'd peg this as an X prototype as well.

Some early builds of Stalker - Call of Pripyat and Stalker - Clear Sky were recently purchased.

http://ap-pro.ru/forum/27-10871-1

I also learned that an early build of Metro 2033 is also available, apparently for the Leipzig Games Convention in 2006.

Are those STALKER builds different from the ones the dev team made available a while ago?

I think the only builds GSC released officially were for Shadow of Chernobyl. There may have been an early build of Clear Sky also.

GSC has given the Lost Alpha team access to early builds, so one day they might also leak some assets.

Also, looking through the Metro 2033 build, there is a ton of stalker assets left over. I think some people have already implemented this build and its shaders and stuff into some stalker mods.

The Rumble Fish (Prototype) was just added to MAME.

http://git.redump.net/mame/commit/?id=938d96bbb2cfd49c5c99bfc40a4857102edd065a

According to Smitdogg, The game was so far earlier in development that it ran on smaller size roms (~101MB game data vs. ~135MB in the final). He also mentioned that there will be more Atomiswave proto news coming soon.

--WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!--
todo:
* Wario_Ware_Inc_BETA_USA-TRaSHMaN is allegedly a prototype. It has a different name in the header (MADEINWARUSA) to the final USA version, among other unknown differences. This is not the same thing as the Wario World/Nintendo GameCube Preview Disc prototype.
* The Wario World/Nintendo GameCube Preview Disc demo prototype doesn't seem to have been converted/dumped very well. It has stuff in the header about the program used to convert it. https://tcrf.net/Proto:WarioWare,_Inc.:_Mega_Microgame$!

I hate to be mister negative but that looks a lot like a generic reproduction cart you could buy off ebay.

It's not a repro.

Seems an awfully elaborate label for a proto though.

Shouldn't someone just ask him. Isn't Mato "friendly" with TCRF anyway?

In other unrelated news, I loaded up the SNES Batman proto (also known as Real Shitty Batman), and found that the end of the cart has graphics from Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball. I was wondering if this is TCRF worthy, since the data may just be leftover stuff on the cart.

Seems like it was burnt onto an EEPROM that previously had a Ken Griffey proto on it, so yeah it's TCRF-worthy. iirc, there was talk of adding a category for things like this.
