I'm really getting frusterated with this comic, because it feels like nobody has made any progress, personally, or story wise, and I think it's because there's 20 different subplots all happening simultaneously, and just when we're about to advance anybody's plot, we switch to someone else, or Hussie just dicks around. At this point, I wouldn't mind if rocks fell, everyone died, and the comic just ended there.

Around the time the individual trolls were introduced is about when the comic stopped being enjoyable for me to read.

I mean, I can excuse the blatant art shift (when was the last time anyone was rendered using the sprites from the beginning of the comic?), but there's little excuse for things dragging on for as long as they have.

I kinda have to agree with Drag here, the story have slowed down so much is hard to find it enjoyable anymore.

So exactly like Problem Sleuth.

I never really like the humor in problem sleuth though, so I never bothered to read it past the first chapter(s).

So exactly like Problem Sleuth.

Problem Sleuth at least was consistent. The art style was the same throughout, the humor was the same throughout, the video game metaphor was the same throughout, and it was never a chore to read or to figure out what the hell was going on (this is important). Plus, there wasn't a Hussie sprite, he wasn't trying to butt into the comic constantly, and there wasn't a single non sequitur intermission to be found. Also, we didn't jump around in time constantly; each panel took place after the previous one. No flashbacks or anything.

Maybe I'm just disappointed because I was hoping Homestuck was going to be as good as Problem Sleuth, which it was at the beginning.

A thousand times this.

Consistency helps a lot when it comes to giving a good impression.

Still gonna keep reading HS though.

I consider Homestuck to be consistent to itself, as well as Problem Sleuth. Essentially, it's an apples and oranges comparison being made, with the only similarity between the two is that they're both fruits.

...Okay that came out wrong but still.

Consistent to being incosistent then.

Maybe the problem was that it at first looked to be another PS, which I would just , and has now devolved into a whole other thing.

And I just prefer the PS style. Maybe if we weren't so teased with it in the start.

Ehhh, it just feels a little to pretentious and jumpy for my tastes.

Devolved? I call it character development, which I believe the evolving (devolving?) art style reflects.

Also I find zero pretention in this at all. More like a plot for a comic that has a beginning, middle, end, and suppose to last two years long.

So don't worry your Problem Sleuth 2 will come soon enough. Alternatively just keep chanting the MSTie mantra.

I seam to get the drift that people hate it simply for not being PS, it's obviously not the same story, so why bother arguing that it's one of the bad points?

I do think it was more fun when john messed around with his shitty inventory system and all the imp fighting, and I do feel the story have slowed down so much it's not even funny anymore. But I still think the overall story is great. And since I think PS is pretty boring, that should say something that it's not the same thing.

It's okay if you don't like it, that's your opinion and I respect that. But it just sounds like you're very much invoking this trope. :/
I don't think the maker had in mind that it would be the same type of story either. :p

I'm not sure if you're refering to me, but I have also read Problem Sleuth and I like that as well. It's just that it's not fair to be comparing Homestuck to Problem Sleuth. So I agree with you on that.

Also John and his inventory system was the greatest. I expect him to somehow mess up one more time.

Gosh fuck I am a retard, I meant to say evolved instead of devolved.

Sorry. D:

But the pretentious parts is the AH parts, he seems a little full of himself at times.

Edit: Karis: It's more "They changed it, now it doesn't appeal as much", it doesn't suck, it just isn't as good as the beginning.

That one was rather funny!

Ahh. Now I see what you're trying to say. But the Neverending Story reference was pure hilarity.

Still though it's not ridiculous to say that it'll likely be relevant to the plot at some point.

That's what I'm fearing, AH himself being relevant would be one of the most pretentious things I had ever seen.

I... dislike author inserts, they were fine when he was just merely doing recaps, but I'm fearing that he's gonna actually cross the line of involving himself for real. :/

Oh and yes the Neverending story reference was amazing, I'm more talking about where he pretty much screamed in our face and said he was our god and made us read the troll romance part again.

That was just ridiculous.

I do like the second track from the latest flash, though. Hope the unabridged version of that gets released soon-ish.

I am worried that Hussie has pretty much said that not only will he show up later in the comic, but that he is more important than everyone else. Am I the only one who think that on April 13th, there is just going to be a flash animation of Hussie snapping his fingers, and everyone dies?

I suddenly imagined he gets his ass kicked by the most important troll. (Gamzee)
