Okay, this worked out well on another forum a while ago, let's see if it works here. Basically, after you finished watching a movie, you come to this thread and voice your fresh opinions about it. Most people on that forum would post just coming back from a theatre, so that's the ideal reason for this thread. Okay here I go.

- So I just saw True Grit the other day. I must say, to see the Coen brothers work out of their element and do a straight up genre movie is quite refreshing. The movie was entertaining and just a fun time, accompanied by a solid Jeff Bridges performance that really carried the film.

- Finally got around to seeing No Country for Old Men last week just before New Years. Oh my God. I fell in love with this movie, it is so much more than what is presented on face value. The character of Anton Chigurh is the most brilliant part of this piece. The chilling performance of actor Javier Bardem just blows my mind, and freaks me the fuck out. A deadly combination. This is one of those movies where there is no account for taste. Some will like it, others will not. Call it.

It's really cool you're exploring the filmography of the Coen brothers. I've been meaning to do that for a while too but I kinda got stuck halfway. If you haven't seen them already, I recommend both Burn After Reading and A Serious Man, which I find to be quite underrated. They are nowhere as readily accessible as No Country for Old Men, but in their own little ways I think they are just as good if not better. As for me,

β€” I came across this Belgian film starring Jared Leto completely by accident. The film's called Mr. Nobody and I haven't really seen anything quite like it. It explores multiple universes and all the possibilities that can come from the choices one makes while blending science into the mix. I really really highly recommend seeing it if you can. It's not available in the US though because they couldn't find a distributor, but I hear it's pretty popular in Europe right now.
β€” I saw The King's Speech in theaters, too, which I thought was really cute and charming, but I don't have as much praise for it as I do for Mr. Nobody. It's still good though.

Rewatched Milk for the first time since its release in theaters in 2008. I loved it then, but I never picked up the DVD or watched it a second time for some reason. Needless to say Sean Penn's performance nailed the persona of Harvey Milk to a T. From start to finish I was blown away by the acting skills. The supporting cast needs to be mentioned because they don't get as much recognition as they should, Josh Brolin especially. It really is a tour de force and it just pulls at my heart strings because the message about gay rights and political activism really pulls through to the end and is always present. A definite a recommendation if I do say so myself.

In other news I'm going to see Suckerpunch this weekend with some buddies of mine so that should serve as a good guys night out with some Zack Snyder sampling. :)

The alt attribute should be used to give a short description
of an image; longer descriptions should be given with the
longdesc attribute which takes a URL linked to the description.
These measures are needed for people using non-graphical browsers.

For further advice on how to make your pages accessible
see http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL.
You are recommended to use CSS to specify the font and
properties such as its size and color. This will reduce
the size of HTML files and make them easier to maintain
compared with using <FONT> elements.

You are recommended to use CSS to control line wrapping.
Use "white-space: nowrap" to inhibit wrapping in place
of inserting <NOBR>...</NOBR> into the markup.
