I apologise on behalf of everyone reasonable in Australia for our shitty avocado/housing discourse. We didn't mean for it to spread internationally. We didn't even want it to spread through the tabloid newspapers here.

I wouldn't feel embarrassed for shit politicians say or do. I don't consider that they represent me or anything. maybe they represent my country, but it's only my country because I happened to be born there.

It actually annoys me a lot because I really like avo related products. At least it gives us some terrible memes mocking it?

Speaking of, I get to eat some home-made guacamole made by my friend later today.

It pisses me off for so many reasons. Like avocado being really good for you, for one (but now apparently discouraged as a luxury)! But yes, we have some memes. I'm enjoying the memes.

I had a bowl of cheerios and a banana.

I don't like avocado. It's mostly tasteless paste to me.

HOW DARE YOU INSULT AVOCADOS!

Actually, I used to not like them so much, only liked guac.

Love them, now, but my mom got tired of buying them cuz they ended-up sitting (I wait for them to ripen and ALWAYS am several days off), and they're getting expensive...

I will admit, they don't have a lot of flavor, but nothing wrong with that.

Avocado is certainly a "quiet" flavour. I say that because I have a cooking book that gives every ingredient a volume, the way you'd describe sounds. Some things, like ginger or sardines, are "loud" flavours. Avocado is definitely not one of those.

I didn't like avocado growing up. I thought it was boring. Even now it's a lot better with some help from other flavours. Balance out the richness with some lemon or lime juice, add bit of salt and pepper, maybe some feta or cream cheese…

I would like to have some avocado on rye toast now, but instead I'm having another banana and more cheerios. It's what we have in the house.

Interesting, and the assessment sounds correct.

I forget at what age I decided I liked it. I will gladly just cut one in half and eat it as-is, though. It's also among my favorite things to put on a sandwich.

This sounds interesting. And sorry to hear you don't have many food options.

Eh, the Cheerios and bananas are OK. They keep well, are fast and easy to prepare, and I don't have to fuss over all the food safety bullshit I have to fuss over these days.

Today I had crumpets with Vegemite. I'll still have a banana though.

That does look extremely hearty. And healthy!

I had more banana bread for breakfast, at a café on my way to the doctor's office. Mmmm naughty. I had a coffee too, which is also a little naughty. I figure I earned it, I ate a bazillion vegetables yesterday.

Earlier, super-thick pancakes Raspberry made. Then a little later, frozen burritos.

I don't have the healthiest diet, but it's hard to work up the motivation to get real groceries when it's 100°F outside

Cheap ramen is great if you add the right stuff. Cook with some bullion, add spices, maybe add some vegetables or meats if you want. It's surprisingly not bad.

As for me, just a plain "bistro bowl salad"; one of those pre-made things that costs $2.50 but does a decent job, two lunchables, and two snack packs of pretzels. Basically breakfast, snacks, and lunch at work; nothing really huge, but it keeps you going through the day

I made pierogi lasagna!

So how I did it? I bought a 1lb pack of (potato and cheddar) pierogis at the local Polish market. Coat a casserole in butter, put frozen pierogi evenly spread at the bottom. Mix one cup of milk and cream cheese each by heating up until it blends and adding two teaspoons of MSG, then pour all over the pierogi . Spread a layer of shredded cheddar on top and some bacon cut into small pieces. Put in the oven at 400F for 25-30 minutes and while that's done fry an onion in butter until caramelized. At the end, garnish the casserole with the onion.

10/10 would die eating

Got a huge can of this stuff called Poppycock, with cashews in it, and it keeps going into my face. Shit this should be illegal. The can should be taken away from me for my own good.
