I like kosher pickles but the bread and butter kind sort of weirds me out. I bought a jar of them once and I didn't really like it.

We finally have a toaster in my new apartment so I made egg and bacon sandwiches just because. I'm not sure I really like egg sandwiches, though, because I've noticed that no matter how much I season the egg, the bread takes away from it. Eggs have a wonderful taste but it's also very delicate. I think I'd rather have my bread on the side than as a sandwich.

For some reason, I kept thinking of The Pains of Being Pure at Heart's song "Heart in Your Heartbreak", so I guess that's our soundtrack!

I know, it's exciting! The spaghetti was very good, much better than I thought it'd turn out

I would like to have a tuna sandwich for breakfast, but since I ate a whole can yesterday, I think I'll pass and eat oatmeal instead.

I'm having sushi for lunch right now... not what I usually have by any means, but it's good to have something different once in awhile. And it's pretty tasty...

I just finished having my dinner during my break at work. Dinner was rice, beans, and steamed chicken. It was great!

That's quite a bit of cheese you're eating there.

Pancakes with *hot* syrup on top.

I ate well. Maybe I overdid it by one pancake, but whatever. :\

I have a box of assorted mini chocolate bars in my room so I've been eating some of those. It's almost like Halloween without all of the walking and knocking on doors .

I got some English muffins, some American cheese and some sausage patties yesterday so I was able to make an old favorite. The eggs were fried on the pan in canola oil and seasoned with chives, sea salt, black pepper and smoked paprika. When you're making eggs for a muffin, you have to push the egg into a small patty-like shape so the egg doesn't fall out of the side when you finally eat the sandwich. This time I actually flipped the egg over to have both sides cooked, which makes eating a lot less messy.

English muffins seem to absorb flavor, too, but not as badly as sliced bread seems to. The egg flavor is still present but in a muffin like this, the stars are the cheese and the sausage patties.

I made two of these for myself because I was really hungry but after I ate them I felt like I ate too much. I realized after that one was probably enough for a nice meal and if I was still hungry, I could eat some raspberries or something. Oops. This dish would have gone great with some home fries or maybe hash browns. It was followed up by a glass of milk and a food topic post.

No picture because my turtle assistant is still hungover from his Labor Day party.

Breakfast was oatmeal ... I don't plan to change my breakfast much since I enjoy my oatmeal, although, I really should eat that bread before it goes bad.

Lunch will certainly include rice and probably eggs. We'll see...

Posting from an analog phone is indeed pretty impressive.

I had pizza for dinner as well, though in my case it had mushrooms on it.

After eating rice, beans, and steamed chicken fillets for dinner, I am now eating some pastries my dad gave me yesterday. I'm not sure what they're called...

Breakfast was two sausage-cheddar cheese omelets each made from a single extra large egg. They were seasoned in chives, black pepper and sea salt and fried in butter. The salt was added once it got onto the pan and everything else was added before. Salt breaks down raw egg so you don't want to have salt in the egg when you're mixing it raw, ever.

I'm totally loving this new place now that I can cook all my old favorites better than ever.

A few days ago, after asking for ideas to use up my bread, Imajin and Lili helped jog my memory (very unintentionally) into an old love of mine ... pizza bread!

Basically: bread, tomato sauce, shredded cheese -> microwave.

Yum

Pizza bread is the best except instead of microwaving it, I fry it on the pan with the sauce and cheese on top kind of like how you make grilled cheese. That pushes it to sublime and it's a great solution to pizza craving.

For dinner I had a chili cheese dog... I'm a little picky about hotdogs in an odd way, but this hotdog met my standards.
