Chicken fajitas and a beer -- Granville Island Brewing Lions Winter Ale. It's one of my favourite beers and I'm sad that its season is almost at an end; it's only available from October through February.

I HAD COFFEEeeeeeeee

*extreme coffee wanker voice* I had a single-origin Ethiopian filter roast, cold brewed for 12 hours in the refrigerator and served directly into my mouth from the bottle

I also had muesli.

Had chicken again, this time it was parmigiana-like with rice and broccoli. It was good tonight and needed a bit of a change.

Last night I asked my husband to get the baby's bolognese portion out of the freezer. Except he got our bolognese portion out. I didn't know, so I didn't get any pasta when I was at the shops, so we had it with the ends of bags of pasta I had in our pantry. MMMMMMmmm spaghetti spiralli macaroni bolgonese *chef finger kiss*

Hey, citrus with noodles is great. There's some brand that makes calamondin-flavored ramen that I need to get some more of sometime.

Ketchup, though. Yeesh.

We had French toast for breakfast. It's one of my favourite things to feed the baby, because it's fast and easy to cook, everyone loves it, it's low in salt and sugar (his portion anyway), and it's easy for him to pick up and shove handfuls of into his face. Also, not that messy!

The grown ups slathered their portions in maple syrup, of course.

For some reason, cooking French toast in the morning makes me feel like I'm a functioning adult.

Being up before the world is bright and sunny, with all my shit together. Eggs, cinnamon, vanilla, and milk all mixed, bread soaking. A nice loaf that I cut up the night before, all appropriately stale. The pan getting juuuuuuuust warm enough on the stove, with the butter and oil mix in it. A nice cold brew in my hands.

Feels like competence.

Had French toast this morning.
