Cramming is the stupid way.

If you don't know it the night before (unless it is a subject that relies on rote learning) you don't know it for the exam.

I barely even have to take notes; I remember a lot from the lectures so I end up having to study very little. Some classes, such as my language classes, do require some vocabulary-cramming, though

Yeah, I found that out the hard way my first semester of college. I'm planning on stepping things up this next semester, though.

I've had teachers who tended to base a lot of the curriculum on rote memorization. One science teacher made us memorize the names, appearances, and functions of 40 pieces of science lab equipment. Or was it 80? Right at the start of the year, before we did much (if any) lab work, too.

Oh god! That's horrible Thankfully I only have to take one science class ... I can't decide between Computer Science, Chemistry or Physics (I will not take Biology), though ...

I think this semester won't be too difficult, except for that Math class ... ._.

Computer science counts as science there? At most schools I know of, science is only natural sciences like biology, chemistry, and physics

Okay, my bad, I got the programme, it says "Select two courses from at least two of the following disciplines: Biology, Chemistry, Geology, and Physics and Astronomy."

I guess it's PHY and CHE for me

Good luck in physics I struggled a lot in that.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of biology classes. Learning about biology isn't bad, but the labs...ugh. I'm squeamish, I don't want to dissect an earthworm

That's precisely why I don't want to take Biology ... I'm too squeamish about it.

At least they're not making you memorise the periodic table. Rote learning is EVERYTHING that is wrong with science education aaarrghkjgdfhgkfhgdjfghfdjghdh!

I rarely have to study for classes beyond reading and doing the study guide. I guess I am just lucky with remembering all the stuff my teachers want me to know. Until the end of the semester. Than it ll goes out.

Yep, most of the time the study guide is all I need to get ready for an exam and pass it.

Nah, it's fine. I was actually trying to tie you with 56, then you made a post at 8:59 and I tried to get another one in to tie again, but I was a few seconds too late. Congratulations

Yay bonus!

And yes, memorizing periodic tables seems kind of useless... though, I can see a little usefulness in being able to quickly know the symbol for a particular element's name.

Nah, don't worry about it It's all in fun. The important thing is that we're a community of friends who like and support and communicate with each other, not some silly rankings Sure, the rankings are fun, but they're not the primary focus.
