Both of you will have to wait around a year.

Anya and I actually have posted at very close to the same rate since I joined Jul. She was a bit over 10000 when I registered.

That may be our difference, Anya I tend to be more steady, whereas you'll sometimes make shitloads of posts in an hour, then barely post for a week.

In my case break has had less of an effect on my posting than I would have expected- on one hand I have no classes so more free time in theory, but on the other hand since I'm at home there's like family and stuff...

My family just makes me want to retreat more so into my room to stagnate.

If I don't go out and spend time with my parents they'll start coming in here and demand to know what I'm doing... "What site is that? Why is it red? Why are you using the computer? Get out here and watch television!"

My parents would get incredibly nosy about whatever I was doing on the computer, which was frequently way too geeky and/or bizarre for them to comprehend anyway. So I tried to just make things brief like "I'm programming" or "I'm working on a side project" without actually saying what it was, rather than spouting off what to them would be gibberish or taking a long time explaining what I was doing.

On the rare occasions when I did show them my various pet projects, they tended to be rather unimpressed and bored, especially my dad. Sometimes he'd try to be polite about it, like when he was playing my first Mario hack, grumbling about how hard it was to use the keyboard and how he couldn't tell how it was different, then spouting faux-polite unrelated bullshit at the end like "You sure changed a lot of things!".

And that's how I got really scared to show people my writing and other work at all. Nothing would be good enough for my dad, so in my mind it feels like it wouldn't be good for anyone else, either.
