Let me guess, the message is from a DS game? They tend to give that kind of error message at startup ex. under faulty/incomplete emulators, like in the early days of commercial games running in them.

Yeah, it was the only error message that didn't have an obvious name.

Forgive the large post. I dug into Space Griffon VF-9 and found a bunch of what I think are placeholder images. Placeholders for what, I don't really know.

CMN:

This one was found in the middle of item graphics.

L1A:

L4A:

L5A:

This one has multiple variants, the number on the bottom goes up to six.

L6A:

L8A:

A lot of these popped up following cutscene images.

I've never played the game, so I don't know the context... this is just my best attempt, it could be wrong.

CMN: "Opening"
L1A: (first image) "consultation scene" (second image) "Thanks"
L4A: "depressed team"
L5A: (first image) "maria being repaired (empty set)" (second image) "data bank, #2" (third image) "francis died?"
L6A: "Griffon Power Up"
L8A: "Francis will help"

That seems on the money, context-wise. Nothing special, then. As far as I can tell, there isn't much else that could be found unless a walk-through-walls code existed. There's some areas on maps you can't get to. Ever.

By the way, somewhat unrelated, but if you have something you'd like translated that doesn't have to do with TCRF, I'm now taking commissions.

Found this in Sonic Colors.

stg190_tex: rso_x_in1_shadow

Based on the filename and role it would have played, I'm guessing it means "shadow" or something, right?

Actually, if I've got my katakana transliteration straight, I think it says "AREA D" and "AREA B", respectively...

I posted some Space Griffon stuff earlier in the thread. I just haven't gotten to writing a page for the game yet.

EDIT: I don't have the time right now to work on a Space Griffon page so here's my unused image gallery on Photobucket anyone can grab files from. I did some preliminary work months ago trying to figure out the game's password system but I apparently don't have those notes any more. Hmm. Well I do remember that each segment of the password stores specific information. For example its possible to transplant parts of one password into another and it works just fine.

I really need to play through the game again to scour the XA files for what's used.

I fixed up some of the Partners in Time article concerning the menus. (Staff names! Go figure.) I was about to remove the "needs translation" tag, but I figured it couldn't hurt to double-check the menu translations, especially by someone familiar with the game.

These are from Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan!, from a folder named sleep. I tried to look up the kanji myself, but I couldn't find all of them, and it didn't make sense from the ones I did find.

"sleep"? This might be the text that pops up when you close the DS during the tutorial. :o I don't remember exactly.

練習中に休むとは何事だ!!出直してこい!!

I'm not familiar with that grammar, but I'm fairly certain it says to not sleep during practice, and insists that you start over.

I think Rahan is right on this one.
