The text goes off-screen in both of these. Would you be able to find the original text file and get the full thing?

Hopefully I didn't mess anything up... some of the characters look tricky.

Found in some garbage data in Gitaroo Man, these cut-off text snippets are probably from a PC program that created the game's model packs. I don't think they go together, but I could be wrong.

に保存できま

ション(一時[0x90]

タはプロジェ

[0x90] is a 0x90 byte, so it's likely to be one of these kanji.

These are very cut-off, so it doesn't matter if the translation is equally cut-off, just something to give the readers an idea. Also if it's untranslatable but you can describe it, that's fine-- I'll try to paraphrase you and put it in the article.

The first line is supposed to be "...に保存できませんでした", "Couldn't be saved in." No idea what the other two are nor is there enough context to determine where these strings came from.

I tried something with the other two, not sure if it works or not. My goal is to show that while the text means something, it's not entirely clear what. Is something like this appropriate for the article, or should I just put a note that it's too cut-off to translate? (note the disclaimer under the table, too)

Text FragmentsPossible Translation
ション(一時"...tion (temporary..."
タはプロジェ"...ter ... proje..."

This text in particular is very cut-off and lacking in context, so the translations may not reflect the intended meaning.

edit: I heard back, and the answer is to just put a note that it's cut-off. However, for anyone out there with a similar question, it's probably better to ask because it can vary depending on the size of the text fragment.

I've been using machine translations to get approximations of Final Fantasy III's unused dialogue, and I think I've found a few things that suggest the game may have moved around at least two of the jobs. Is it possible that you could translate these two lines, if it's no trouble?

 クリスタルのかけらを受け取った!
 幻術士のジョブチェンジが可能になった!

and

 吟遊詩人のジョブを手に入れた!

I'm not a master at Japanese but these translations should be fairly accurate.

The first text says "Crystal Fragment received!"
The second line after that I believe says: "Magician job change now possible!"
Last line says: "Minstrel job obtained!"

Thank you so much. You've confirmed a suspicion I've had regarding those lines, but just to be sure of something, can you please translate this sentence?

I asked for this before - it translated to "aging card", but I didn't realise I needed the Japanese. Could somebody transcribe this?

this "this ROM is duplicated." is not grammatically correct in translating.
This されますと is keigo(polite tense) but not passive.
So it says "If you copy this ROM you may be punished.

Text at the end of the FG/BG graphics ROM in S.P.Y. - Special Project Y. Not sure if this is unused, since the Japanese version hasn't been dumped yet.
