服 does mean "clothes" or "dress", though... but yeah, the dialogue and the icon would imply otherwise.

Secret passwords from New York Nyankies (Japanese version of Rockin' Kats). These all exist in English form in the US version, but I'm curious as to what they say here:

(boss select, red dot = 1-5)

(show ending)

(final extra-difficult level)

(all items)

I've been poking around the Japanese version of Ranma 1/2 since the current Wiki entry is kinda barebones and doesn't mention any possible differences in the Japanese version.

In the US release, the game glitches a bit when you win as Happosai. The article mentioned that he might've been left out because of untranslated text, but he's still not usable in the Japanese version without the debug code. On the other hand, you get this text if you win sometimes. Actually, the first and third win looked fine, while the second had glitched graphics. I decided to lose on purpose, and the game crashed the emulator after I lost.

Can someone please translate this? I'm trying to figure out if it's showing the wrong text.

Maybe it's something like "I've never had a showdown like this"? (that's a dirty, dirty guesslation and I should feel bad as an amateur translator for it. I'd ask GB or someone equally competent.)

So the Japanese version of Forgotten Worlds voices Sylphie, the shopkeeper. I know this isn't really text, but could someone translate these?

And yes, this is the best sound quality I could possibly get.

These two aren't used so I don't have a context for them:

Zsnes, actually. I know it's far from accurate, but as I said, I was just testing stuff. I haven't tried it in bsnes yet (been busy) but in order for the emulator to crash it must've tried to do something really freakin' weird.

The corrupt text on both versions makes me think it's trying to pull data from somewhere it shouldn't, but since I'm not a programmer at all, I'm only guessing here.

I can't transcribe either of the unused clips.

I found the correct transcription for that line. Thank you, random person from 2channel :
右の品物をレバーで選択し、ボタンを押して買うことができます
Select the goods on the right with the joystick*. Then, press a button to buy it.
*The correct translation would be lever for "レバー", but I found that to be awkward.

Still, it's not easy for me to decipher the Japanese language by ear. I'll still try to see if I can make out what those unused clips are saying.

These are from Super Mario Sunshine. They all describe that unused Goomba. I ran them through Google Translate, but I want to get a second opinion from a real person.

Hmmm... would "Character Manager" also be a valid translation? It seems like it would make more sense in this context.

"Character Manager" does make more sense, though not for linguistic reasons. While I haven't been looking into it very seriously, the .bin files that seem to hold room actors in SMS have a section that lists different "Managers." IE, there's a GateKeeper Manager, a Hinokuri2 Manager...

So yeah, it might be intended to be "Character Manager."

I found these while mucking about with Robocop 2 (Arcade).

[replaced with corrected version -BMF]

These are reconstructions. I noticed the tileviewer in MAME had all of these, so I ripped the images with print screen and reconstructed them in Paint Shop Pro. This is in all three versions of the game currently in MAME. I believe these are credits and other dev messages, but the game does have a proper ending credit sequence.

So what do these say? Thanks.

I noticed you had a few misplaced tiles (and large gaps ;P) in your original image, so I uploaded a fixed version and edited your post. Looks much better now.
