Vague posting times are annoying... sites like YouTube and Twitter like to use them all the time, with no way to get the actual date/time.

Hell, even phpBB doesn't use the vague times, and they're not a very good board system otherwise...

I'm not sure how posting times could be more friendly without looking tacky on the main board and forum page. 1 Month, 2 Days, 5, hours ago? 62 Days ago? 2 Months ago is good enough for viewing the date. What vBulletin should do is allow one to see exactly how long a post was made when viewing the full detail of the topic.

More like, instead of saying how long ago the post was made, just give the date and time like Jul does.

A date. You know, like the one we have. YYYY-MM-DD at worst.

I especially hate when it just says "Yesterday". Thanks a lot for that information!

I've never really been bothered too much by dates like that, as long as they revert to normal dates after a while.

I think Twitter does it for me, though I'm not entirely sure.

I've seen places that revert to yesterday immediately, too... so if you happen to show up at 12:01 or something, there is no useful information imparted by the date/time field...

You just have to convince them it's for medicinal purposes. You know, like, if you happen to suddenly freeze and need to be dethawed...

You know what else is funny?

In the official baggage rules on the Greyhound bus lines, you're not allowed to bring corpses on as checked luggage. It makes you wonder just what the fuck people have tried to stuff in a bag and bring with 'em.

That's a very, very scary thought.

Reminds me of the classic sign, "DUMP BODIES BY PERMIT ONLY". (Though that one at least is just a case of misinterpretation)
