Correct URL:

And it could be a build date, if you read it as "04/12 19:55" (year would be missing though). Just wild guessing though.

I've been looking at Giraffe Soft/Kan's games lately by using a directory that can be scanned through in ASCII.

I found leftover data for Super Pachinko Taisen in The Shinri Game 2 through references with the ASCII text. The entire directory from Super Pachinko Taisen is in The Shinri Game 2. To me, if they still survive, that would mean unused graphics. There is at least one leftover reference in this fashion that survives, but it is questionable if the data has been overwritten.

Super Pachinko Taisen does have unused graphics due to a missing reference. DEBG/ASC04 appears to be used at the Title Screen. There is ASC16 in the directory right next to ASC04, and it is never referred to anywhere. DEBG, which to me stands for debug, is effectively gone on a technicality except for those two fonts, most likely due to memory constraints.

Here's some stuff for the Dreamcast version of Gauntlet Legends.
A funny legal notice:

Also there are video files for the "town" area, which wasn't included in this version of the game. No real point in uploading them since they're indistinguishable from the ones found in Dark Legacy.

Couldn't figure out how to get clean rips of the bnk audio files but there were what seemed to be leftover voice clips from the arcade version in there too ("select a journey").

Does anybody know what resolution is that supposed to use? I imagine 320 pixels wide, but what about the height? 480? (can happen if interlaced) I really doubt it's 525 because that's the height of NTSC including blanking period (meaning a good chunk is completely gone).

Either part of it wasn't supposed to be shown (and it does seem to get cut at the bottom) or it was meant to scroll or something like that.

Or it was never meant to be shown.

Bomberman Online's intro video is 512x256, so who knows what weird scaling "tricks" Dreamcast programmers tried to use...

Speaking of the Dreamcast, someone should crack into Soul Calibur and see what's in there. I'd imagine there'd be a test level somewhere at least.

Hey everyone, does someone know of a good PS3 emulator?
I may dig into PS3 games, which nobody did before.
Mostly 2D fighting games, though...

Nooope, nobody has got anywhere (or made public) a PS3 emulator yet.
Any you may find as of today are all fake.

I was wondering if I could post those Pokemon tracks I found about a month ago? I'll have to go through ahd resequence them using SynthFont, since I have no known way to access them ingame. Is it okay if I post htme as they appear through SynthFont, as a reconstruction, or should I try and hear them through the game itself?

Other weirdness: One of the towns, I'm pretty sure Undella Town, has four music files. I'm pretty sure that Summer is used, but the others, Spring, Autumn and Winter, are all identical tracks. Seems odd to me.

Ah crud...
...nobody even tried to dig into KOFXIII, for example...
...what if we could find a big scoop there? Like sprites for an unused character (there were rumors that characters like Oswald were supossed to appear there, but the idea was ultimately scrapped)...

You can still dig through the game files to see if you can find any leftover stuff.

I messed around with the PS3 and 360 versions of Ghostbusters The Video Game, and was able to access their files without problems - but the files were quite different than the PC versions so I couldn't really do much with them.

RPCS3. It only runs small homebrew right now.

Yeah, but I need the actual game for that.
And I don't have the money for that either...

So, Megaman Xtreme was going to have Super Game Boy support which appears to been concluded halfway through. Maybe Capcom felt that a single palette that didn't work well for the entire game would have been much work to fix or add additional palettes to compensate, much less adding a border.

Are you sure?
I heard that ISOs don't work on most of the PS3 out there...
