| I was doing some poking around on WhoSampled, looking up Frankie Goes To Hollywood. Listening to this fine (brain melting) example, listen to the synth around the time the sample starts (1:25): http://www.whosampled.com/sample/view/101028/TS%20Mason-Sucka%20MF_Frankie%20Goes%20to%20Hollywood-Two%20Tribes%20%28For%20the%20Victims%20of%20Ravishment%29/ That'd be the one on the left. I think the (brain melting rave) synth sounds exactly like the melody for the German Link's Awakening Bonus Track. ETA: German |

Surfing around for information on the Neverhood, and found this guy's blog entry. He was able to extract all of the stills from the game, and found two that are unused: ![]() Left is the unused one, while the one one right is the still that's used in game (uploaded for comparison). ![]() Debug menu, seemingly only for a level select. |

| I've been screwing around with Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime (360 / PC / PS3) and it has a couple of unused tunes. One of them in particular caught my attention and I'm hoping someone can help me figure out if the developers took it from somewhere without permission. http://tcrf.net/File:GB_Sanctum_Of_Slime_Main_theme_8bit.ogg It sounds NES-like, but it's not from the NES or C64. The game doesn't mention this in the credits and there's no way to access this song... so if you've heard it before, please help me identify it. Thanks! -------------------- ![]() |

I'd probably just add a note to the Wii article about some games having the standard warning screens in languages they don't support. While those resources are technically stored on the game disc, they're part of the standard devkit and will be in every game (though maybe not in every language; that's probably something the devs need to configure).Originally posted by FoxhackIs it larger resolution? It just looks blurry to me, being a poor-quality screenshot next to a direct, unfiltered texture rip. -------------------- |

Originally posted by Foxhack Sounds like Sytrus, Unknown 64 Pro, and FL's standard reverb, if you ask me. It's swimming in verb ![]() (It makes it really hard to pull out any sonic characteristics like that, though. All that I know, it could be GXSCC imitating a FC sound. But its not 8-bit itself...) RTA: Think I know it. It's probably TB_Triforce, TB_Peach and TB_Toad, all which aim to imitate an NES (the first through synthesis, the other two through samples.) I just realized it had that quality. |

| Checking SoulSilver's content with VGMTrans for giggles, need some new music for testing out SF2's. Found three sequences called SEQ_AIF_FIELD, SEQ_AIF_DUNGEON, and SEQ_AIF_BATTLE. They all sound the same: a giant, very LOUD piano hit. Anyone got a clue? (They're after the GB songs in the listing, and before the SFX begins.) There's also a SEQ_DUMMY file, which might be used after all, and a remake of the Unown's radio transmission, though I think that went unused in the remake? A SEQ_TEST_TITLE exists early on, and is a duplicate of DUMMY. (I'll post some audio, once I get the time to, later.) |

Originally posted by Peardian Hm, yeah, just checked that. SEQ_DUMMY uses BANK_BGM_FIELD1, WAVE_ARC_BASIC and WAVE_ARC_FIELD1, but SEQ_TEST_TITLE uses BANK_BASIC and WAVE_ARC_BASIC. Check sequences in a sec. They seem to be identical, otherwise. I think its one of the route themes (its been a while since I played a Pokemon game, so yeah.) The SEQ_AIF files use their expected banks and samples. FIELD uses BANK_BGM_FIELD1, WAVE_ARC_BASIC, and WAVE_ARC_BGM_FIELD1, DUNGEON BANK_BGM_DUNGEON1, WAVE_ARC_BASIC and WAVE_ARC_BGM_DUNGEON1, and BATTLE BANK_BGM_BATTLE1, WAVE_ARC_BASIC and WAVE_ARC_BGM_BATTLE1. Trying to get recordings now. ETA: Can't, because StereoMix/What U Hear on my card seems to be broken. I have the DLS and MID if anyone else is interested, at least, from the DUMMY sequences. ETA 2: For the same reasons, I'm checking Black US version, also. There's a SEQ_BGM_DUMMY file, but here it sounds like a completely different RPG. It reminds me of Chrono Cross, for some reason, very Celtic based with a fiddle. Here, it uses its own unique banks (from the looks of it), with BANK_MUS_DUMMY, and a WAV sample of WAVE_MUS_WB_DUMMY. Here's the SS and B sequences, DLS and MID. I warn that the MID sounds like shit. It's how it came out of the ripper. Again, I apologize that I can't show real recordings, but my Stereo Mix borked. Blah. I hope someone else can do it. I'm also including a link for a version of BGM_DUMMY with a corrected drum channel, so it plays over Channel 10 (GM Drum channel) rather than Channels 8 and 11. May or may not work with most MIDI cards. ETA 3: Yes, I'm a smart person who just remembered that DLS are usable soundbanks. Durp. Whatever, I'll have them recreated shortly XD Here they are, recreated as 128 KBPS OGG files, with the power of SynthFont (I was lazy.) Keep in mind, these are recreations. I don't think I could stick them on the Wiki (they aren't from the game, just recreated using the soundbanks and MIDI sequence.) http://depositfiles.com/files/e8kstnero Also, posts like these is what happens when you let someone with ADD have a giant iced coffee ![]() ETA 5: I really hate double posts, but maybe I should make a new one. Checking Dark Dawn as well. I see Saturos' theme, though I was pretty sure it was never heard in game? Posting that here incase it was and I'm a ditz. |

What's the deal with those Mario Party 8 blue borders? The PAL version is said to have removed them.
I've also heard Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn wasn't widescreen in Japan. |
