I bet the original textures for HR-D3 are in the game somewhere... |

And on the topic of Kirby: Return to Dream Land, there's an unused ability in the game -- some kind of Super Cutter.![]() The files for it are under /g3d/step/chara/hero/kirby/supercutter/. And there might have also been a "Super Spark" planned, judging by the icons in /g3d/step/item/spabilitystar/. And unfortunately, I didn't see the original textures for HR-D3 anywhere, but there were some prototype DeDeDe textures in the same archive as it. |

| Okay, 2 stuff from Pikmin 2... In the Purple Pikmin files, the name is "Black"... So yeah, watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssxpb_84KA0&feature=relmfu The Black Pikmin Icon 2- Look at the end of the same video, what is THAT placeholder object anyway? I also found a thing that I will upload soon |

Originally posted by oaa No kidding, but that trailer actually scares a bit. First, there is no sound. Second, the graphics are similar to Pikmin1. Third, the only sound at the end in "suddenly". And fourth, that placeholder image. Also Fifth, for the Debug thing at the top. Probably the numbers are the proportion of that object... Here goes my video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THdz07IcWek&feature=youtu.be |

You might think that this layout is specifically EarthBound themed, but it might just be a reference to one of my favorite games.

So I found an enemy in the Kirby and The Amazing Mirror prototype ROM that's not in the final game.![]() Looks like some kind of wind-up clock thing. This obviously isn't the correct palette. -------------------- |

Found the correct palette (at 36E724)...![]() The palettes of just about every sprite in the demo version can be found in the address range 36C3C4-36F9C3. These are in the same order as the graphics, so I found this palette between Metal Guardian's and Leap's. (For the sake of comparison, the sprite palettes in the Japanese final version are at 49F218-4A2C77.) Also, here's another enemy not found in the released version: ![]() It appears to be an alternate version of an enemy that does exist in the both the demo and final version--Shooty--only this one has a propeller on its back and lacks projectiles. Other demo version differences I've spotted:

X's Ultimate Armor does not have it's own unique palette file in X4 and X5. It uses a slightly modified Fourth Armor palette in X4, and just flatly uses the Fourth Armor palette in X5, giving credibility to my idea that the Ultimate Armor was just the Fourth Armor as a whole sprite (all armor parts as one sprite) at one point in development, brought on by this:![]() This is a glitched up ladder frame with the Fourth Armor's parts active in the X4 Demo. But regardless of the glitches, all of the armor parts are loaded as separate pieces in VRAM, as they are in the final. ![]() On the left is the X frame without armor. The middle frame is the demo's Fourth Armor graphics assembled properly, and on the right is the final for comparison. These graphics were taken directly from the VRAM data of the same frame as above. The only way to find out if any other armor abilities (or any of Zero's other techniques) exist is to crack open the game's file formats and decompress all of X and Zero's graphics somehow. |

| The unused track in Pokémon Yellow was probably based on the boss battle music with Madake in BUSHI Seiryūden: Futari no Yūsha for the Super Famicom, a game which Game Freak also developed, and released in January 1997. (I know there's the possibly it isn't, but I thought they sound very similar.) |

From the Wolfenstein 3D source code. Probably not unused, but so rarely seen that it might as well be. Some kind of anti-save cheating system?

Wow. I swear I've actually seen that message before, years ago. Does it pop up if you try to save the game while cheats are active, perhaps?
