Some crap from Penny Racers / Choro-Q 64:
PLAYER OMORI RELOAD %d
I don't even know why I bothered to download this really mediocre racing game, I guess nostalgia for the one time I rented it from Blockbuster or something. Anyway I'm totally clueless when it comes to N64 hacking so I can't really investigate this further right now. -------------------- ![]() Photo by Luc Viatour • go to it |

| Seems like this thread should just be renamed "general discoveries," since not even half of it is really "weird" but just something someone found =p I messed with the Dynamite Headdy beta for Genesis and got the level select value. It's stored in FFE8C3. Setting it to 38 brings you to the secret last level not normally accessible in the level select. Looks the same as the final except no enemies attacking you, not even loaded into VRAM. Setting it to 42 will bring up an early version of the character roll call ending. Some of the animations that play are different from the final. It skips the enemies from the sky level, which shows even more that that level just wasn't implemented yet. Also ends before covering all the characters. Can't find the bonus round so from what I see the game doesn't really hide anymore, unless they're buried in there somewhere. I'm lazy to take pics and make add this to the wiki right now =p |

| This was found by somebody else in the Deus Ex 3 files, so I don't have the original files to post. You might find this amusing, though... The intro to Deus Ex 3: Placeholder Voice Acting Edition |

Word of warning: you need an SA account to view that post (I have one, I know you have one, but most people in this thread probably don't)
Here is the link in that post ("hotlink-y" concerns aside, it'll probably get a lot less traffic from here than it does from SA) -------------------- ![]() Photo by Luc Viatour • go to it |

Nintendo sold soundtrack CDs of all three of those games IIRC, but they didn't look like that...-------------------- |

| In some THP files in Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Video files), there is some prototype videos. Each video has the histories of Subspace Emissary. But, in some other THP's, in the last frame, does have a strange picture: ![]() There is also Kirby and Peach, but this one does appear in Game |

![]() ![]() ![]() I'm poking System Shock. More pictures to come, maybe. There are a lot of unused (and mostly unimplemented) objects inside OBJPROP.DAT, which you can view using a couple of different tools. I made a list of what I believe all of the unused ones are. The numbers next to each item are their class/subclass/type, respectively. Highlights: lots of unused cyberspace stuff, unused quest items, a couple of unused enemy types (including a mutant-class enemy called "Sonic the Hedgehog"), ammo/health vending machines, a non-cyberspace version of SHODAN, and a bunch of control objects with funny names. I'm fairly sure most of these don't actually do anything or have any unique graphics, though. SS1's level data is compressed, so I'm currently having to play with these rather laboriously by finding items and changing their properties with a memory editor while running the game in DOSBox. There are also supposed to be a few unused voice logs/emails/whatever, but I have no clue which ones they are (as much as people have hacked this game, you think they'd document this stuff better.) EDIT: Here, have some more. ![]() ![]() ![]() I tested all of the unused enemy types except for the "dynamic ICE" cyberspace thing, and three of them actually have graphics (although one of them obviously uses the same sprites as the humanoid mutants )I was playing with enemy AI disabled at the time so I have no idea how they are actually supposed to behave. The "Sonic" mutant just plays two frames of the humanoid's animation while standing still and maybe kind of floating in midair. The Lifter actually has frames and was probably going to be used on the storage level, I think they're even referred to in a couple of the log files you find. All of the other things I tested so far don't have graphics and are thus effectively nonexistent when you place them into a level. So far, that includes all of the unused door types (10/*/*), the vending machines (9/4/*), the unused quest items (8/7/*), plus "warecasing", "telescoping rod", "tractor beam", "dial", and "security-3 robot". Later on I'm going to try the extra Cyberspace stuff (there's a decent amount of it ).-------------------- ![]() Photo by Luc Viatour • go to it |

| Hm, I wonder how the "Sonic"-Mutant was supposed to look like... ...but now something completely different: The Legendary Starfy actaully has got a whopping 3 unused costumes (transformations). And here they are: http://www.spriters-resource.com/ds/thelegendarystarfy/sheet/40726 The Cockroach Costume ("Starroach" ?) is weird in following terms: -There are front frames. -Starfy uses an unique expression, which isn't used anywhere else. -There is no Starly Version of that costume. There are only 2 reasons: >Starly wasn't planed to appaer in that game as a playable character at first >This costume was scrapped very early This Costume resembles the Roostar costume most. Maybe Roostar is even based of that Cockroach Costume. http://www.spriters-resource.com/ds/thelegendarystarfy/sheet/40727 http://www.spriters-resource.com/ds/thelegendarystarfy/sheet/41299 The Frog Costume ("Frogstar" ?) is more finished, because it also has got a Starly Version. Probably scrapped in favor of Starpedo. http://www.spriters-resource.com/ds/thelegendarystarfy/sheet/40728 http://www.spriters-resource.com/ds/thelegendarystarfy/sheet/41300 This costume is so weird, that I don't even want to COMMENT about that... -------------------- *inserts awesome signature* |

| Kirby Mouth is strange? This is nothing. More strange is found an EXE on the Pikmin disc, + Dll's. And even on Mario Party 4 have DLL's (also some setup options on the folders) |

More Shock stuff:
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Various 3D objects from the "Fixtures" category. "Realwall" and "Pillar" were probably used for testing collision. I don't know about the two railing objects, I definitely don't remember seeing them in the game. "Tubing" uses the same weird airplane-shaped model as a few other unused objects (some not pictured.) "Probe" is obviously too large for that particular room, I need to find a better place to insert one. ![]() ![]() Trying out the "Datastorm" and "Disc" attack software in Cyberspace. The small red triangle in the left screenshot is the Datastorm projectile. Disc fires red-colored versions of the information nodes (or whatever they're called). Neither of them appear to do any damage. "Mine" and "Scrambler" can also be picked up, but they don't do anything. The rest of the unused software gives the message "item rejected" when you try to pick it up. I've tested out most of the unused objects at this point, most of them don't have graphics/are basically useless, but interesting nonetheless. I'll start an article soon, but I'm still trying to find more details on the unused audio logs. -------------------- ![]() Photo by Luc Viatour • go to it |
