In Kirby Air Ride, there's a sound test featuring 64 different tracks.
Poking in the game data, there's 65 tracks of music. Sadly, there's no neat unused music (at least, not in the USA version where I got these from). Instead, the tracks named "event_monster.hps" and "studium_dedede.hps" are exactly the same. I wonder if there's anything more interesting hiding out in the Japanese version of the game. ____________________ |

Looking through the OoT ROM, I found this string of text at offset 0x9154D6:
This is not the correct key. The door won't open! I have never seen this message, and there's only really one type of key anyway, so is this even used? (Before you ask, I did check the boss doors, they give a different message: "You need a special key to open this door.") ____________________ |

| Have you tried opening a regular locked door with a boss key? I can't seem to recall what happens if you try that, or if it's even possible given the design of the temples. |

![]() The first Darkstalkers game has character select cursor labels for up to 8 players. The only other Capcom CPS fighter I know to have this is Super Street Fighter II, which had a special "tournament" edition that networked four cabinets together to allow for an 8 player elimination tournament. That didn't end up selling well, hence the concept never showing up again for any of Capcom's later CPS fighters. However, Darkstalkers was in development before Super Street Fighter II was released, so they might have been considering doing the same for it. Also, Super Street Fighter II Turbo has a piece of music that, as far as I know, is never used for anything. It's Sound Code 00D2 in the Sound Test. Sounds suitable for some kind of ending sequence. |

Woah wait. Now that you mentioned it...
Watch the Volvagia intro. Then watch that Arwing intro. Notice any similarities? ____________________ |

>>ESTABLISHING LINK...DONE. >>FETCHING POST DATA...DONE. >>EXECUTING POSTDISP.BIN... Not sure if this fits here - because it's not really something that's still left in the final game - but anyway... From Game Center CX's Pokemon special in season 1: ![]() ![]() ![]() Nidoking, Slowbro and Kadabra. But notice their numbers - 007, 008 and 038. Now take a look at Bulbapedia's list of Pokemon by index number for Generation 1. Notice anything? Also note that Nidoking's name isn't yet ニドキング but マイコー♂ the other two names match their final counterparts, just as all the sprites seem to match those of Red/Green (although I can't be sure, considering the video quality). And here's Arino holding the source of those images, something that looks like it might an early design document or proposal for the game, the above images apparently being screen captures from a Super Game Boy as you can see its default border around them (which also means those might be from what became the Pokedex?): http://i.imgur.com/qUZ9q.png & http://i.imgur.com/vc7ST.png Hope that made sense, it's late and I should rather go to bed... ____________________ |

| Very interesting, xdaniel! Where's the footage for that episode? Has it been translated yet? I couldn't find mention of Pokémon on the list here. |

>>ESTABLISHING LINK...DONE. >>FETCHING POST DATA...DONE. >>EXECUTING POSTDISP.BIN... It's a special episode apparently not listed at Wikipedia - http://www.crunkgames.com/?p=87&page=13 - and the Pokemon part, a rather long interview with Satoshi Tajiri, hasn't really been translated yet (the SMB2 challenge and I believe the Hakone travelouge have been). I got the video in a torrent of several seasons of the show, most of which haven't been translated yet either. ____________________ |

I found animation data for those weird spirally projectiles in Pyron's spriteset I mentioned some time ago. Here's what they look like animated: ![]() ![]() |

| I have to say, I really think those look neat how they're animated. Kind of a shame they didn't use them, but they probably had a good reason for it. ____________________ |

>>ESTABLISHING LINK...DONE. >>FETCHING POST DATA...DONE. >>EXECUTING POSTDISP.BIN... Originally posted by Xkeeper Hm, how to best approach adding this to the article then... There's already a small paragraph about there having been 190 Pokemon in the MISSINGNO. segment, so part of this whole thing is already mentioned. Should I make a new heading, ex. after MISSINGNO.'s, named "Original Pokedex Order" or somesuch, explain this there - the internal index numbers matching those old design documents, plus the screenshots from GCCX, maybe Nidoking's prototype name - and move/integrate the 190 Pokemon paragraph there as well? Asking because it kinda difficult to imagine for me, as compared to just adding unused graphics or text or whatever. EDIT: Gave myself a personal sandbox kinda page and put that new paragraph there: http://tcrf.net/User:Xdaniel/Sandbox - Any improvements or somesuch to make before integrating that into the actual article? EDIT 2: Oh well, it's in the main article now. Feel free to rewrite, improve, remove, etc. ____________________ |
