I moved into my new house off-campus of JMU last week and we've been having non-college-related fun since then (hence my absence).

Tomorrow is Pokémarathon 2010.

We are going to marathon seasons 2 and 3 of the Pokemon tv show.

It should be about 30 hours long in all, straight through the night.

I think about 8-10 people will be there the whole time.

The guys I live with did a Pokemarathon 2008 two years ago and they watched all of Season 1 without stopping. I've heard a lot about how crazy things got by the end of it. Sleep deprivation will definitely be kicking in. Liz is excited to get sleep-drunk text messages from me because she thinks they'll be hilarious.

I'm afraid. And I'm also excited.

I should get to sleep. We're starting bright and early tomorrow: 9AM.

I'm ready.

I've done some anime marathons before, such as Chobits and Neon Genesis Evangelion. Those series can be watched from start to finish in under 24 hours, though =P

I did a marathon for AVGN and Microwave This?, in terms of online/YouTube video series too =)

I saw "Pokémarathon" and stopped right there.

You're going to fry your brain before classes even start, FP.

I'm used to burning my brain out with long periods of being awake, but a marathon of those episodes... ugh. I don't think I could take it, and I regularly play horrible games like Sonic 06 all the way through (cringing at Sonic's side, all the way through. I wanna stab the people who made that side of the game with a rusty butter knife.)

I can only imagine what happened when they reached the Pikachu's Good-Bye episode last time.

I don't know if I'd have the will or courage to watch all that.

oh god that sounds like an awful thing to do to yourself

...this coming from the guy who watched death note and then code geass in a marathon sometime last week

I guess good luck, and I recommend getting everyone to agree that bathroom breaks are ok before you start...

but you already started, so I'm just going to fervently hope that you did.

My sister and I have been watching the old red boxed VHS tapes of the first season of Pokemon lately, although unfortunately we're only about half way through the season and we're not going to be able to watch them anymore in about a week since I'm leaving to go to university. We already completed season 2 last summer though and that was a lot of fun.

So enjoy! Seasons 1-3 of Pokemon are where the awesomeness was .

Hope all is going well today with the Pokémarothon! Give us an update if you have a chance.

I did a Lord of the Rings marathon this past holiday. We had 7/5/2010 off since the 4th was on a Sunday. I wasn't in the room the whole time, but I played all 3 movies throughout the day.

I have fond memories of one Christmas where they showed Star Wars on TV (before Episode 1 came out) and we sat and watched all of them. I had use of our new La-z-boy Recliner, too. Mom's fudge and a bowl of her famous scramble (think chex mix but better). That was a fun day.

I'm alive, though I had to quit out at 8am this morning because i was tired and feeling a bit wonky. I came back up to finish it though, and it just ended at 3.

Holy fucking shit this was probably the dumbest and most hilarious thing I've ever done. Around 4am was the best, when everyone was sleep drunk and laughing uncontrollably at everything. 230am was the worst time though, my text messages to Liz prove that. I may post some of those, as i sent about hourly sanity check updates which chronicle the journey through the early morning pretty well.

Yeah, I don't think I've marathon'd anything except video games before.

TV shows would be harder I suppose, since they grab your attention less. :x

That's kinda how things went from the start. Every time that showed up we all started yelling that it was Psyduck. It was Psyduck every time too.
