I'm hoping we get more activity soon. If not this month, maybe by September when people's summer breaks and vacations should be ending or over.

Ironic how school is the answer for posting woes sometimes.

At least we never got a flood of "OMG SCHOOL SUX" threads. They existed but never in gigantic numbers.

Yeah, I remember those threads actually being disallowed at I1 or someplace for a while. I guess we have fewer users in school, and fewer n00bs coming in posting stuff like "OH NO MY SKOOL SUX MY TEECHER GAME I AN F 4 SPELING EVREYTHINGE RANG! FIER HURR!".

Last year, I spreed like crazy largely because school and my job were stinking piles of total suckitude.

I missing school so much now I finnally left it but the only thing actually keeping me focused when I was in school, was that thought of leaving school. Kinda makes me regret thinking that now.

Most people in school are already near a computer, so it's fairly natural that activity would pick up.

During summer, often the last thing you want to be is around a computer, given that you've just gotten away from dealing with it for the last nine months. It's time to go socialize, etc.

I imagine this will be the lowest point. This is the whole "end of summer" time. I've been taking classes all summer, and you can bet my activity is going to drop off as soon as the final exams are done, because I have so much catching up to do at home.

I'm going to try to bring my activity back up since my tiny vacation is over and I should be a bit less busy.

Its just one of those things you have to deal with. People have other things to do and less time to be on the computer. Especially Anya, several games came out that she wanted to review so she hasn't been nearly as active as usual. I've been busier at work so less time to post from there. And not on the PC much at all at home so less posting there.

In other news, my wife would make the worst politician ever. She changes her mind every other week. We returned the iPad (with a $50 restocking fee) because she wanted to use the desktop PC that was my her's before we gave it to my mother. She left it here when they moved to Georgia and she said she doesn't need it so my wife is going to use it again... What can you do, eh?

Yep and right now I'm just playing a game that I've already played several times over.

Now if my hubby wants the laptop to play SC2, then I might be away.

If anything, my post count is likely to decline further after a few months. College time soon and if I wasn't going at full tilt already, I will be now.

Now until I RETIRE...

Well, in addition to wanting the desktop again, she wanted a copy of StarCraft II. So last night at Fry's we were looking around and I found the StarCraft section. Low and behold... they have collector's editions left! And do you think my wife wants one... of course she does! But I can't complain, she let me get new headphones. But she got a set of wireless headphones, too. How does that work out?

I never was like this, I remember spending the summer after 3rd grade largely programming the C64 (I had recently taught myself how) I never had many friends in meatspace though. I currently actually have some that I like hanging out with, and it seems weird to me for that to be the case.

And all of my schools before college had incredibly strict computer policies. Going to a board might kick you off the computer for weeks, and they were rigorously human-enforced. If I was sitting in the library, I'd very often hear the librarians yelling at people to only use the computers for academic purposes. In college they totally didn't care, especially on your laptop.

Well, my school blocked EVERYTHING so there wasn't much that we could do. They even blocked users running .exe files ¬¬

I have the admin password at my College, so in the rare event I had to do something, I couldn't really be stopped.

But the same reason I still have that password is, for some reason, I consider it unethical to use the school computers for recreation and thus don't really do anything except school with them.

Me and my friend had access to several admin accounts. We only used them when we had nothing to do, but we could mess around with the desktops of other computers, such as putting kebab images all over the desktop of the head mistress xD

... um

Wouldn't that actually be a pretty big fucking hindrance to even doing actual work?

I still wish I'd started off doing my work in my web design class booted into a Linux USB disk. It wasn't perfect, but it gave me a level of freedom and customization I was much more comfortable with. Plus, since the PC at my seat had some sort of virus (I forget which, it's been ages)... I was able to avoid that, as well! The teachers also trusted me as well, since I was pretty much able to prove I knew what I was doing. (Having built a computer helps immensely, too. )

One school didn't let us play games in computer classes or surf social parts of the Internet, but we could look up computer-related stuff. So we'd go on places like Computer Stupidities

The other school allowed us to play games, but only the ones that came with Windows. Some people played Snood and it was banned, but there was still Spider Solitaire and Pinball and such

Our school had adult content filters, but that was about it (and some kids still got around them). I remember playing StarCraft, Worms Armageddon, and Quake II on the computers in my Computer Science and Web Design classes. Besides browsing the internet, but back then there was no facebook or anything so I didn't have much to browse. I was playing Quake II most of the time.
