honestly, pretty cute gameplay. i’m excited to play it on my Game Boy Light soon.

I remember playing that on a 32 in 1 multicart. Such a classic game.
(If only I could find where my mom put the cart along with the other Game Boy games.)

I have a frontlit-modded milky pink GBA and it's pretty nice ^^ There's a little dial on the side connected tot he LEDs so you can adjust the strength of the lighting.

I love the GBA so much…
but hey if you're looking for DMG games go pick up Gargoyle's Quest and let's race 👀
The SaGa games are also very good, especially SaGa 2 is one of my favorite RPGs… and of course Ninja Gaiden: Shadow!

Slowly working my way through 100%ing Mario Odyssey... (880 moons, I'm not crazy enough to grind coins, I don't think...)

Goodness gracious this game is a complete and utter joy. I'm always surprised by how continually clever it is and how much just, like, pure fun I have playing it. I ain't touched Breath of the Wild yet, but if it's even close to this level of quality then omggggg I'm gonna love it

I'm also kinda sorta half-playing Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice but it's sorta on the backburner while I make my way through Odyssey

Are we talking puzzle recs or general recs? In general, I'd recommend Balloon Kid, Donkey Kong, Kirby's Dream Land 2, Kirby's Pinball Land, Operation C, any of the Pokemon games (incl. TCG/Pinball), Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, and Wario Blast.

For puzzle specifically, I'd say Bust-a-Move 4, Dr. Mario, Kwirk, Puyo Puyo Sun, Snoopy's Magic Show, Tetris, Yoshi's Cookie, and Zoop.

Jealous of that GB Light, dang. Luckily I have a rose pink GBA SP AGS-101, so I'm good. :p

ooh, yeah maybe more puzzle stuff. i have like 80% of those games you just recommended, lol.

i’m hoping i can get a flash cart sometime soon and play Star Sweep, Trip World and Puyo Puyo.

i was never super into the GBA SP, sadly. something about the form didn’t feel right. i like the GBM way more and maybe some day i can get a modded original GBA. i have a backlight modded GBP, but the batteries wear out really fast, so it’s fairly disappointing. plus there’s no way to turn off the backlight, so i’m increasingly feeling like the GBL is the best way to experience GB games.

also i always just felt awk about playing GB games on GBA.

any recs for Game Boy games though? trying to figure out what i’m going to enjoy on this Game Boy Light i’m getting soon.

It's not half bad.

A fine excuse to post this wonderful thing again

what the ♥♪!?

can i rant more about FE:HSL?

this game basically plays like someone’s awful fan fiction. why is the one turban-sporting fellow the villain now? no one knows. generic plotline about holy dragon wars. yawn. i might not touch another FE game again, maybe not for a long time.

Uh, I guess I just made some more progress into Etrian Odyssey 4's post-game dungeon on a test stream via Citra? I've finally gotten past the "wrong tiles teleport you back to entrance lol o__°" room in B2F, party only got wiped out three times, the enemies are still way strong and annoying (petrification, YAY), ugh.

I'll write this save back to my cart, I guess, and then... I'm not sure if I'll continue playing it now. I'm close to just saying "yep, that's good enough" and considering this game finished...

Oh my goodness! I love this game, I have it on NES. Have you ever heard of Arctic on Famicom? It's somewhat like Pipe Dream in terms of puzzle elements, but with "monorails" (more like marbles). Pipe Dream players are probably the only group of people that enjoy it, it seems.

also, i beat Fire Emblem: Heroes of Shadow and Light the other day, a fucking awful game. the worst Fire Emblem game, imo. this made me lose a lot of faith in the DS as a console, tbh.

I bought Slay The Spire last night after watching TieTuesday play it on Twitch. It's a fun little card game RPG that plays out like Dominion -- you start with a basic set of attack and skill cards and you get new cards after each enemy encounter. You also find relics like in Binding of Isaac which give permanent upgrades that alter your strategies for that run.

I'm also slowly working through Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, where I finally made it to Part 4's endgame.

Ayyy, nice, Shadow of the Ninja is fun. (Actually, I would go so far as to say that every NES game with "Ninja" in the title was at least good)

I'm just playing Zelda: BOTW; I'm on Hyrule Castle on my first playthrough. When I beat it, I'm going to play some Super Meat Boy and get the Zelda DLC.

Ah, Shadow of the Ninja is such a good game! A close friend of mine used to have the WR for the sequel, Ninja Gaiden: Shadow on GB. It's so fun!

Lately I've been trying to learn the 3-first route for The Legend of Zelda Any% No Up+A but it's sooo hard to be consistent against Gleeok with wood sword and green tunic and four hearts…

Aside from that, I'm looking into learning Zelda 2 100% No OoB and Gargoyle's Quest! I used to run Z2 so I'm pretty good at combat already, I just need to learn the XP route and finish some practice runs to get a baseline time to run against.

Beat Doki Doki Literature Club this weekend. Turns out I know the dude who made it!

It was an experience. A friend slightly ruined it because he wanted to see my reactions to it, and wouldn't shut up at certain points. But overall, enjoyable. Annoying catchy soundtrack, too.

Was playing some Deceit with a Twitch channel that I follow. It's basically the new Trouble in Terrorist Town pretty much though it's lacking content so far (3 maps with a 6 player limit). It's free to play, though there are loot boxes for their method of a business model (which are all cosmetic).

Did a run of Shadow of the Ninja a couple hours ago and got all the way to 5-1 (out of 5-2).

Beating the game seems doable! I'm going to save that as my weekend challenge. Won't actually be ON the weekend, but I'll have two days off in a row to poke at it.
