Watching Haibane a second time -- the first since 2013. I'm only about halfway so far... No less affecting than first watch, that's for sure. If anything, I'm a bit more perceptive this time around and enjoying it even more.

Since there's not really a manga thread (assuming there isn't something to necro 30 pages back), I grabbed Bokurano tonight. No clue if I'll enjoy it, but the description made it seem like a decent bet... I wish there were more mecha shows that weren't heavily indebted to the old stuff, super formulaic, or NGE.

Dragon Ball is hit or miss to me. Liked Resurrection F, and the game Advanced Adventure.

My lasting favorite happens to be the original Pokemon. While riddled with flaws, I was there in 1999 to treasure it for what it is. Actually, despite similarly obvious fondness for Lum, I didn't discover Urusei Yatsura until some ten years after Pokemon.

What other good ones are there, really? ohohoho

Also I can't believe you forgot to mention that I recently watched all of Dragon Ball/DBZ, the ultimate noob-tier anime

I’m personally curious about Akakichi no Eleven. It’s gotta be good, right? Anything made by Ikki Kajiwara is wholesome right?

The day Jade finds a new anime to watch that she likes is when hell freezes over.

as mentioned earlier, gonna watch LWA next month, but I'm not sure how to watch it. This is your fault for getting me into that show, you two.

I've been watching this regularly since a year back or so, and I enjoy it for what it is.

It's not groundbreaking in anyway, but it's more Dragon Ball, with all the ups and downs that that comes with.

Started watching Dragon Ball Super (I fully realize I'm a couple years behind).

It's uh, pretty much what I expected. Though considering I only really have a cursory knowledge of the rest of the DB series it's a wonder I'm not totally lost.

my current fav are code geass and mushishi. i also love show by rock, i dont know if thats on the list or not yet haha.

i rewatched code geass for the third time last summer and rewatched madoka magica for the second time a few months ago.

i will probably rewatch code geass with my siblings again at some point if i can get them on board with it hehe. :9

I still have some backlog that I eventually intended to get through, but I don't know if they're available on CR or anything and I'm too lazy to check:

- that one series with the angels or something? I want to say the words started with HR but I forget
- celestial method (someone may have recommended me this)
- ???

I feel like I'm forgetting some other stuff.

haibane renmei and re:creators were the two I was missing.

Unfortunately, at least the latter one isn't easily accessible, so I guess I need to go find some magnet links.

Little Witch Academia rules, I highly recommend watching it (both the OVAs and the TV series)

i'm watching little witch academia and it is indeed good. lord knows if i'll finish it though, i'm really terrible at motivating myself to watch anime

i've never seen madoka but i've realllllly wanted to for a long time. the only issue is that my gf wants to watch them in movie form and that requires 4 hours of time commitment so rip

i have like 500 animes on my computer that i've never seen and i really need to get around to watching them (i've only seen like 5 of the shows in that pic)

The only anime I watched recently was Madoka Magica. I may give Little Witch Academia a watch one day, possibly sometime next month. Hopefully that one turns out to be good, heard it was good from someone.

I think one of the biggest hurdle the anime industry needs to get over is region-locking as well as how they handle and sell off rights to distribution.

Absolutly, and DVD / BD distribution is not much better. Now should I get the UK, US or German release of something? Which will feature what extras, and who had the better resources for translation etc?

Or I could just order a bunch of Japanese LDs and try to understand the contents somehow....

Please watch Space Battleship Yamato 2199. It's streaming legally now, you have zero reason not to see it unless you want to miss out on a remake of one of the best space opera series that was so pioneering it basically helped invent the term "anime" in the 1970s.

The remake actually added more to the cast and the CGI is pretty slick, plus the music is wonderfully retro sounding to go along with it being a 70s anime remake. They even play disco music at one point when the Yamato launches its fighter fleet (utilizing a very ingenious rotary platform catapult launch mechanism)
I just watched through all of this over the last few days, including the movie. It was pretty darn great if you ask me! 'w'
I have never really seen the original nor any of the sequels to that, so this was a nice entry point if ask me. And from what I understand the remake is better than the original in almost every way so I have little reason to go back too. ~w~

Can't wait for the next season that will cover the next story arc, it's currently in production/airing, but they are doing the movie format releases on it in Japan. (Never really understood this approach, tbh).

I would watch it, but where? it is of course, not available in my region...

let's dig up those torrents again.
