I am replying from a BlackBerry Curve 9320. It's my trusty rescue phone; I know it will always be working anytime my toobigphone™ stops working.
Jul works okay on it, although the display of some layouts is very strange.
I lost my speed at typing on this keyboard but I still love it so damn much. Ahh, the nice clicking of those keys

oh, emphatically agreed
it's really ridiculous
i have pretty big hands, unfortunately,
but even for me bigger phones are just untenable
ive been forced to use an iphone 6s,
and even that's too big for me
i keep dropping it, the case is all slippery,
it's just nightmarish

I used some BlackBerry phones for a few years and I totally miss the keyboards. No matter what keyboard app I use, no matter how big the keys are or the screen is, I will never go as fast as when I had a BB with a physical keyboard. Those things are awesome and I still don't get why there are so little phones with such keyboards...

right now i'm hoping to magic up enough money for a ps4 and kingdom hearts 3
id also love, long-term, a less...budget-y, cheap-y, useless-y computer

(absolute pipe dream would be for apple to see the error of their ways,
and release an iphone se 2, but that's never happening)

either a nokia 8110 4g or an alcatel go flip to replace my current phone. if i could, i would really like to get a jio phone 2 and use that as my main phone since it has a similar form factor to an old blackberry, but unfortunately those are only sold in india. my dream phone, though, would be something that runs on kaios and looks similar to those old slide phones with the wide screens

i also kind of want a ps3 that's otheros-enabled or can be downgraded to 3.55 for otheros++, would be fun to try and run linux or something on one and try and use it as an actual computer

personally, would really love a hifive unleased

very interested in risc-v right now tbh but I definitely don't have the spare $ to spend on a $1000 development board

Rechargeable battery packs that don't end up bulging after X years.

Got a loose 3DS XL in need of some repairs for free - Circle Pad broken off, chunk of case plastic missing above the R trigger, seemingly wonky hinges, but functioning perfectly fine; still has a 4 GB SDHC card even. While cleaning it, I noticed that the battery had bulged pretty badly, so I took it out to bring it someplace for recycling. Later on, I remembered that I wanted to try a cartridge on the XL, just to make sure that part works, too. So, I take apart one of my other two, regular 3DS, to check if I can maybe (temporarily) use the battery in the XL... and as it turns out, both of them *also* have bulging batteries, one moreso than the other.

Cue me gathering my other Nintendo handhelds with battery packs like this, to make sure they aren't bulging as well... and as it turns out here, most of them are: the GBA SP's, original DS', DSi XL's, said 3DS' and, of course, the 3DS XL's batteries have all gone bad. All are working, all are original Nintendo ones, but all show the same physical symptoms to some degree. Only the DS Lite and GB micro seem to still have perfectly healthy batteries, despite being much older than, say, the 3DS XL.

So, well, since 1) all these batteries will eventually go bad, bulge or do worse, and 2) Nintendo of Europe doesn't sell original replacement parts anymore *anyway*, I'll be slowly replacing the batteries with 3rd party ones off of Amazon...

For some reason I don't like being dependent on external sites for that stuff for the most part. Games aren't that much of an issue but then I wouldn't use, say, Itch.io to store various prototypes as I go along.

(And I don't mean to use it for storage so much as being able to link stuff, and also hopefully I'd be able to get URLs for a possible mood avatar.

I dump stuff on my own self-hosted server so that I don't have to worry about crap disappearing, but that's out of the scope for a lot of people.

In other news, my main videocard died so I guess that's on my "want list"

Like this one? I used to work with such equipment, sadly we had to return them

Thinking I need a new non-Corsair PSU. This PSU and the last PSU I bought both developed a really annoying fan rattle. I replaced the last one when it evolved from just rattling to outright grinding, so to get two in a row that develop a rattle is quite annoying. Thing is, I don't know which companies produce reputable PSUs.

For all I know, fan rattles develop on everything.

I want a hard drive for my Zenith 286 (at least 20MB) but they are so pricey! The cheapest one I've found is $60, and they only go up from that.

I've been looking at arcade sticks, but I can't justify the price. Even a fightpad like the HORI Fighting Commander is a tad out of my price range.

How things have worked out so far:

- Not buying a new case for the computer because in the end this one works fine and I actually quite like its design.
- I'm buying a new HDD today. This one is starting to show signs of failure. It should arrive sometime this week.
- New GPU this month or the next one. I had to remove the old GeForce GT610 because it was crashing too oftenly. Using the onboard video for now. My father wanted to see if he could fix the card by replacing its VRAM chip and using it on his computer.
- I bought two new USB drives, one 16GB and one 32GB, and they both work perfectly.

Something else that I wasn't expecting was getting a new CPU, the Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400. The benchmarks have been giving great results, but I can't really notice it because Windows is not working full speed right now, understandably so.

My dream retro computer to own is a Sharp X68000 (doesn't matter the model as long as it takes 5.25" disks) complete with a MIDI card.

Otherwise, I want a Power Mac G3 or G4 with the "oven door" and a ThinkPad T60.

As far as upgrades to my current PC and peripherals go, I could use a bigger SSD and a better microphone. A mechanical keyboard would be nice as well but I'm fine with my Natural Keyboard 4000 right now.

Also, a Sega Dreamcast would be nice.
