My recent 3D model stuff made me revisit a classic site, and one of my big inspirations. I didn't see it mentioned already, so here's a link to it.

I'm of course referring to Neglected Mario Character Comix.

Realtek's website hasn't had a resurface since before FF came out, if it's worth mentioning.

I remember logging onto to this old website where I used to go gaming and played stuff like Red Earth and Red Earth 2 and Hexagon and N-Blox. I dunno what happened to it now but I guess it probably died. Bonus points if it’s still there. I don’t remember what it was called but it had a white background. Brings back memories.

I remember using AOL as well. I think I used it as my gateway into games like Bejeweled, Skillgammon, Heavy Weapon and this shmup game where I played as a helicopter. Good times.

Almost all the sites hosted by or linked to in Konfiskated Technologies fall under this. It's a shame HG101 updated their layout, but I guess they have their reasons.

This page on Spriteclad has a lot of links to sites like these, some of which were already mentioned here.

I was reminded of a couple of places I used to go on for humor a long time ago, and I'm surprised that some of them are still up.

Sidetalking, (the site making fun of the Nokia N-Gage) is still up in its 2004-2005 incarnation, with one update about the device's discontinuation.

CrapMAME is a site showcasing awful MAME cabinets. It's been mirrored in several places, but this appears to be the original host.

RinkWorks is an online entertainment site that I found through the Computer Stupidities page. The entire site's design and much of the content is straight out of the late 90s/early 2000s.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean, can you link one of these types of sites?

I'd have to see one to pass judgement on it

Bogozone is hosted on one of those free website hosts, so it tends to... go down. A lot.

A lot.

Oh, I have a really good one to share!

Intelligent Systems still has the original website for Panel de Pon up.

It has archived news entries as far back as 1997. Besides the typical game summary and character profiles, it also has remastered versions of the main music tracks and some submitted fan art. There's also a guestbook somewhere.

Also "I put on my robe and wizard hat."

Much like with Space Jam, Atlus keeps a lot of their promotional sites up for some reason. Here's the one for Nocturne.

The GUIdebook GUI Gallery was abandoned in 2006 but I still find it to be a good resource when looking for screenshots.

The Video Game Museum has looked about the same since 2002.

There's a somewhat similar site called Clientcopia (dedicated to stupid client quotes) that hasn't changed much from its original layout, flash and all.

I remember going on The Mushroom Kingdom and Serebii years ago. Also Toastytech, which was linked earlier.

A good portion of my favorites bar qualify as this. These are the same few sites I've been visiting for over 15 years.

Kirby's Rainbow Resort
Serebii.net
The Mushroom Kingdom (previously mentioned)
VGMaps.com

also VGMusic

Oh yeah, I remember The Mushroom Kingdom website. It brought a smile on my face to see the website still up, even when I found it for the first time in either 1999 or 2000.

The Realtek site still says it's "Best viewed at 800x600 with IE 6.0 or Netscape 7.02 or Mozilla Firefox 1.0.6 or higher."

The shmups forum looks exactly the same as it did in 2005.
This is a long thread. Click here to view it.
