I got a whole bunch of NES and Famicom games. I'll make a post about it in my collection thread in Gaming probably tomorrow (as it's getting a wee late and I have to get up at 4:30 AM. ), but here's a little something that I've been dying to share here;

Oh hey what are these?

These two minor little things somehow slipped into the package somehow...

That's a pretty great Arale -- I think Dr. Slump was the first manga I read as a kid.

An online friend is shipping over some Touhou plushies

Specifically, Cirno and Flandre. I'm should be getting them sooner or later, hopefully around my birthday c:

Get a look at Space Squash, it's a lot of fun, even if only a .jp release.

About Sound on VB, you may be better of with a PC Engine. About the same capabilities, but way more support.

But I wouldn't mind some great tunes to listen on the VB.

Space Squash is rather interesting, I might just get it >.>
also yeah, I dabble in PCE a bit (it's pretty nice tbh) but it's just not the saaamme, I'm a bit of a stickler for being able to use the actual thing with all of its unique quirks heh

The .jp box is pure happyness. And the soundtrack is awesome.

I myself am a sucker for Galactic Pinball. Played that more than Wario Land (which I still should finish).

Which games did you get?

well with it came Mario's Tennis (of course), Wario Land, Teleroboxer, Red Alarm, and Golf.
And since that post, I've gotten Vertical Force and Panic Bomber, and am looking for Mario Clash to come in any day. :p

I'm not looking to collect every single game, just the ones that interest me most. That and maybe a flash cart, so that when the day finally comes that someone writes a competent music tool for VB, I can export that music and play it off of hardware (...gosh, a girl sure can dream)

so at PAX i tried VR for the first time--superhot VR. couldn't stop thinking about it since.

found a deal on ebay, and, welp...

google earth VR's pretty profound. but also motion sickness-inducing if you disable all the comfort/scale features and go ham with it

edit: thumper in VR is RAADDDDD

No, didn't dump that (yet).

But I still have everything...

Now where are those batteries....

I don't suppose you dumped that, did you? It would be really awesome to have that preserved, though I have no idea how you'd actually go about doing it. (A backup of the audio but also the raw data stream, since it's analog/digital data? Hm.)

I totally forgot about Mach Rider, but I should've known Wrecking Crew. When I end up getting one, I'll have to see if the US ROMs versions still act properly with the data recorder in a AV Famicom.

Well, that and a Family Basic Keyboard, which you also need to actually use this for saving data in the, uh. Four or so games that support it — Family Basic itself, Excitebike, Castle Excellent, and I think there was another one or something, but I can't remember it.

Also Mach Rider and Wrecking Crew.

Mine still had a Nintendo branded cassette with some demo programms and graphics included.

It's quite a neat piece of hardware with some fun games, and I've yet to have a single case of headaches or eye strain :p

The point is more that it's new to you.

Like this!

This here is a Famicom Data Recorder. It's basically a glorified Nintendo-branded portable tape deck. I haven't gotten a chance to test it yet, because, uh, who still has audio tapes around still?

I also got an FDS that was "tested and working". Unsurprisingly it was not! It is in pretty good shape, but the drive belt, the thing that actually makes it read disks, was, uh. Well it certainly wasn't a belt any more, more like some weird black sludge. At least replacements for that are $5 × 10 on ebay... and in the process BMF got his FDS fully working again, instead of refusing to read disks most of the time.

Look at that hee-ho, he's so happy to be on the front of the box!
